Elizabeth II was extraordinarily lucky and felt herself to be so, in having Winston Churchill as Prime Minister during the beginning of her reign. He was her valued mentor during their weekly meetings, giving her the basis for a growing knowledge of the geopolitical world, and how to navigate it as a constitutional monarch with very limited temporal power, but much in the way of "benign symbolism" for her nation and the world.

She really grew under his tutelage, and earned the respect of other leaders. Fortunately, she had a sense of duty, which a number of her family members did not.

I've never believed for one second that Epstein committed suicide.  I think, JMO, that he had so much on so many powerful men that he had to be silenced.

Too much for coincidence that the two guards just happened to go on "break" and didn't check his cell, as they were supposed to; falsified records.  The "coincidence" that the two cameras in front of his cell malfunctioned?

That he was left alone in his cell, although he was assigned a cellmate because of a reported earlier suicide attempt.  And instead that cellmate was transferred out to another prison. OOPS!  And how convenient.

There's an excellent CBS News Investigation about this on YT.  (Sorry, can't post a link.)  It goes through all the normal procedures that weren't carried out by either the prison staff (after finding Epstein) or the FBI.  No DNA tests on items in the cell?  Completely rearranging things before the crime scene is thoroughly investigated?

I don't believe in conspiracy theories as such but, in this case, I think it's smoke and mirrors; a cover-up.

Unfortunately, this is nothing more than a 'shiny thing' distraction. The fact they put these parameters in the bill speaks volumes and explains why it was nearly a unanimous vote in both the House and Senate.

Speaking of MM, saw a video of a guy who bought her "As Ever" stuff.  He opened the box to find the very expensive candle he ordered totally without a wick!  So much for her attention to detail. Then he opened the jar of jam he got and tried it. He spit it back out and said it tasted like cr*p. He then said  "Can I get my money back?"

LOLOL

I take anything like this with several grains of salt.  No one knows if it's true or just someone tryng to sling mud because of a personal agenda - dislike of the person or just wanting that "15 minutes of fame".  As to the jam, taste is very subjective, as we all know.

If I received products like that, I would contact the vendor to resolve the issue.  Not make an online video.  Only if the vendor didn't act in good faith, would I take it further - and I still wouldn't make an LOLOL video.

(He should direct his "can I get my money back" question directly to the vendor.  He just wants the attention.)

I am no fan of Meghan Markle, but that doesn’t mean every negative review is legit. I agree with you on this one @Venezia,  Motives matter. I would like to see more reviews.

Age of consent varies by state. 18 is not standard across the board.

However any sex abuse, trafficking, etc is not diminished by lower ages.

Consent is troubling in its own way.

This is about victims of sex trafficking, abuse.

Not about wickless candles and bad tasting jam.

It shows how much some really give a flying fig about victims.
It doesn't MATTER who started it. This isn't kindergarten.
The whole MM obsession matters more???

Every day I learn just who cares about victims around here.

#metoo indeed.

What will be disclosed will be disclosed.
The focus on just one person ignores all victims.

Where was the outcry over so many other names?
Bill C.
Bill Gates.
Dershowitz
On and on.

Anyone who flew on his plane became suspect.
Yet the fixation on our current excuses all others.

Whoever was involved with the sex abuse/trafficking should be exposed.
I don't care who, what party, how much money, etc

And now a "pretty good source" is accusing all R names being scrubbed.
People will believe it based solely on hatred and not based on true justice.

Expose, bring to justice, support the victims.
Put aside these ongoing hopes for only ONE NAME to be exposed.
Hope for all true perpetrators.

Because if all you focus on is driven by hatred, remember others were disliked but their names were conveniently hushed years ago.

This horrendous Epstein trafficking should never be based on party line.

Epstein is just a drop in the ocean.

This trafficking will not end because the focus and outcry is misplaced.

As I said come on down and see our shelter for RESCUED victims of trafficking.

I guarantee your perception of reality will change from "let's get that one person" to let' us unite to increase rescues, teach both girls and boys about online grooming, etc

If we stand by hoping for just one outcome, we have failed all the victims who are being overlooked.
