I still don't understand the theory that has been proposed either.

Many years ago, I started buying clothes on QVC and HSN because they had plus size clothes. It was difficult to find plus size cloths then that were like regular size clothes. QVC and HSN, had the same exact style clothes as the regular clothes were.
I did not like the plus size clothes stores. I loved the clothes that I got here.
My life has changed a lot. At 66 I am still working but I no longer have to dress for business. I like to look nice but I do not need many clothes. In fact, I have too many.
I do not watch QVC or HSN much anymore, but I do look online.
I am no longer plus size, but that does not matter, QVC and HSN cater to a variety of sizes. I still like this.
I do find the prices are high. I buy most of my clothes from Macy's, Costco, and Sam's Club, LLBean and Lands End.
I can get LLBean Pima Cotton shirts for about the same price that I pay here. I find LLBean are much better quality. Lands End also sells Pima Cotton shirts, most often at a lower price then I can get on QVC.
I still like some of the brands, mostly at HSN. G but Guiliana is one of my favorites and I will buy if I see something that I like.

We all know exactly why prices are though the roof!!!!!Why don't you enlighten us all as to exactly why
Because many of us are intelligent enought to know what is going on.
Perhaps you need to enlighten yourself.
So rude, then again that's typical of your posts here. I'm very intelligent and enlightened, and I'll put it up against yours any day of the week.
Sad that a former nurse behaves the way you do.

@febe1 Yes, they essentially are lying. They are thinking that retail store is the middle man. The stores gets their merchandise from a warehouse, marks up the price, and then sell it to you in person.
QVC gets their merchandise from a warehouse, marks up the price, and then sells it to you on TV.
I have been to the QVC studio. It is HUGE and I am sure their overhead is huge too, not to mention their warehouse(s), and all the customer service people, etc.
The only way to eliminate the middleman is to buy directly from the warehouse, without the mark up in price to cover the retail store or online shopping channel.
So that is just another one of their "sayings" to make you think you are getting a great deal.
