Better eat it slowly so you feel like you got your money's worth.

p.s. my college daughter eats at places like Panera and Zoe's and such kinda often, as I'm the one that pays the cc bill . . . those are expensive to me . . . usually about 10 bucks maybe even 11 or so sometimes. But I guess some of the college kids like to go study @ Panera too . . . so I guess the time they take up a table must be worth it or else they'd kick 'em out for staying too long.

We ran and got sandwiches for 4 adults and it came to about $61. No drinks!

I was at the supermarket this afternoon and got one gallon of whole milk, store brand, $3.79, one loaf cheap white bread $1.97 (on sale) and one dozen eggs $2.14 for a total of $7.90, Fast, slow or in between there is no inexpensive food.

I like Taco Time and get a chicken soft taco (fresh tomato and lettuce) combo with small Mexi-fries (tater tots) and a drink for $7.99. I can't eat the whole meal.

I don't eat fast food anymore for years, except an occasional grab of Pizza Hut once a year. We live where its far to drive to the nearest fast food and we have NO delivery here. We frequent LOCAL restaurant's which are the BEST!

We have a small place nearby called Tokyo Express - I think it's a chain so some of you may be familiar with it. This one has really good food - I can order Teriyaki Chicken with Fried Rice and Mixed Vegetables (onions, zucchini, broccoli, mushrooms, and carrots), and it comes with the best shrimp sauce. If I don't overdo, I can actually get 3 meals out of it - on the third meal, I nuke some Green Giant Glazed Carrots (because I usually eat all the carrots first), so it makes just enough. Total of $6.25 at Tokyo Express, plus I get the GG veggies when they're on sale for $1.00 a box. Can't beat $7.25 for three meals, and it's delicious too!

It really has gotten pricey... And they've gotten so stingy... Last time I went to the place that used to have 'Golden Arches' I was told that 'the company' decided to stop having spicy mustard among the condiments and when I recently went to another fast food place and asked for a honey mustard and a bar-b-que sauce for chicken tenders, I was told that they were only supposed to give out one... Honestly... I couldn't believe it and the manager actually had to grant permission for them to give me an extra packet of dipping sauce... Glad I don't do fast food often!

Hey stevieb, how are things up your way? I had the same experience at Captain D's seafood place. I bought a combo chicken/fish dinner, which is a LOT of food, and asked for 3 packets of sauce because the last ones I got were those little tiny ones like jelly comes in when you have breakfast out. She said she couldn't give me three, but she could give me a larger packet -- I practically had to beg for two! She wasn't very nice about it, and I didn't like her attitude so I contacted Captain D's on their website and they're sending me monthly coupons (they used to have them in the newspaper or mail, but haven't gotten any in a long time). I won't even go there without a coupon - they give you a lot of food but they sure do charge for it!

I like to occasionally splurge on the Smokehouse Brisket from Arby's. Throw in some fries and a drink and it is almost $8.00. I know it's about the most expensive sandwich they have but it is pretty good (except I'm baffled why they would put mayo on it)!

I can usually eat at Taco Bell for five bucks and under.

Fast food isn't cheap. Most of the dollar menus have shrunk if not totally gone.

when it is too hot we will go to the grocery store deli and get a honey turkey, pastrami turkey, a white cheese sliced thin and honey wheat wraps. we add a little lettuce and cherry tomatoes, drizzle olive oil sprinkle a little salt and pepper and you have lunch and dinner.

we found out it's cheaper going to the grocery story deli. fast food will break the bank if you're feeding the family.
