I have noticed many woman who  news broadcasters or sports broadcasters wear unattractive glasses. Is the idea to hide their pretty so they become more believable to the audience?  Why not just hire unattractive women to start with rather than try to make a pretty lady nerdy and unattractive? It seems to defeat the whole purpose of looking at a pretty lady to put her behind ugly glasses.

I could be wrong, but aren't those big, nerdy glasses "in" now. That's the style I keep seeing around.

Like beauty, ugly is in the eye of the beholder.

I doubt that their employers choose and buy their glasses.

I love big glasses, they are a more youthful look.  I don't like anything that looks like a man's glasses on a woman, however.

I personally do not find "framed" glasses unattractive on pretty woman.

I don't get it either.  Everyone knows that being pretty is way better than trying to look smart (I mean doesn't smart fall far behind being pretty?), and what's this "being able to see" stuff all about when one's beauty is in question?  

I am waiting for the day when these beautiful women on tv news and sports shows just start wearing thong bathing suits and get over all this "smart" stuff.

Hipster glasses do not look good on anyone but the youth. Those black rimmed glasses look awful.

I dislike when I see people around me with the glare glasses-- so the light reflects back into your face when you talk to them. Another look I dislike is glasses that are too large for one's face-- think the 1980's and those style glasses. Sort of like aviator glasses on steroids.
