I stream alot and I have been lucky that not had problems. My poor wife, did end up getting a ransom virus to where it actually hi jacked her own laptop. Luckily, I was able to go in and restore it through some careful registry work. One time shen actually gets a virus and its a doosy. I always tease her about going to the naughty websites...LOL!!
You get those all the time?
It happened to me only once and I have been using Webroot for years (one of the best anti virus programs out there) and it did not stop it.

That never happens with a Mac
Please read my previous response. It did happen to DH who was using a Mac desktop. Things seem to be beginning with Macs - we knew it would happen eventually when PC's became less interesting to the hacking scammers.
@Perkup...you are right. People naïvely think nothing egregious can ever happened on a Mac which is not true. The only reason it happens infrequently on a Mac is because fewer people use them than PCs. The hackers are going to go for those machines that are more widely used; hence, the reason for all of the attacks on PCs versus Macs.

I happened to me today for the first time. I shut down my computer immediately.

Unfortunately, in the world we now live in, I assume any inquiries or requests for info by mail, phone, online & sometimes in person is a scam. I give out no personal information until I prove otherwise.

Happened to me at least three times. Whole lot of crooks out there. Always be on alert.

Thanks, everyone. It's pretty scary how real they make that look. I shut down the computer for a couple of hours, ran a scan and changed my password. Everything seems to be running normal again. Yes, there are a lot of crooks out there. :-(

Had it a couple of times on my iMac. Had to shut it down both times to get rid of the thing because I couldn't even "Force Quit". Isn't the best thing for the computer, but it did rid the mess.

Unfortunately, it DID happen with my iMac as I posted elsewhere. Had to force a shut down by pushing and holding the power button.
