President Bush will remain in the Houston Methodist Hospital through the weekend to continue his recovery and regain strength. He is in excellent spirits, and is looking forward to resuming his schedule and going to Maine next month.

He is one strong man. I feared that he would succumb to his health problems, given Barbara’s death, but with his excellent care and excellent resilience, he can overcome this latest crisis. These Greatest Generation men and women are amazing. My soon-to-be 96-year-old mother is a perfect example of the toughness of this generation. They faced the Depression, World War 2, the Communist nuclear threat, yet raised us Baby Boomers to be secure, assertive people.
