@KBEANS : Thank you.
I made all my side dishes in September and they are in the freezer. Not baking anything this year but made purchases on line. Told DH it's time to reconsider the holidays and make necessary changes. Not physically able to do. We are very Blessed and grateful to be together. I made changes and this year: just gifts for family and purchased  more necessities for gifts.  Used more gift bags this year. Plus less decoration. 🙏❤️🎄

Yes, @SouthernBee  I totally get what you mean. Easier is better for us these days!

 We have much simpler holidays now.  I decorate very lightly as well. Just some plants, flowers, candles and our Cardinal displays.

My husband had a rough year health wise starting in May. Thankfully; he is on the mend and his issue shouldn't hinder him, as he had a corrective procedure and it has worked. 🙏

Thanking God for our family and praying for a great 2026!

@KBEANS

I think  so many of us has had a rough year with family health issuses  and dear friends passing away  so  i hope,and pray we all have a better one in 2026.

I am glad to hear your dh is on the mendHeart

We had a scare recently with my oldests sons wife.

She has heart problems  and has had3 major surgeries this year  and

he found her unresponsive   and she was rushed to a nearby hospital.

Then that hospital sent her to a larger hospital  100 miles away where she got the right care she  needed  and had a nureo surgeon on staff   to solve her problem and  now she is back home but needs to get more  physical therapy.

She did not have a heart attack or stoke  or siezure sp...sorry ..first hospital said she had a UTI  and...  septis  and thats why she was taken to another hospital...

2d hosptial  dr. said noway..  She didn't have  any infections!

And no medication problems!

Her neruo dr. at bigger hospital  wanted her to go for 6mo. of

of rehab   for her back/walking,etc  and get her healthy again but she refused.

She will do physical theapy in her home town  instead as she had recently  had back surgery for compressed disc  and was  having problems walking  and she still needs  time to heal.

 So our prayer were heard.

I have kept this stress inside me  and had to let it go  plus worried for my oldest son for a reaction to his CLL(cancer)  but he is holding up  and bloodwork shows no change   and still  in  normal  range.

ok..i feel better now just talking about it. Stress can be so hard on a persons well being.

I’m sorry to hear about your DIL and pray she recovers fully.
My husband developed sepsis as well from a gangrenous gallbladder! it’s been a long road back from this illness for him, but he’s finally feeling much better!
I too didn’t post about my troubles because I fold up like an accordion and keep everything in when it comes to health issues!

I don’t really feel these forums are the place to talk illness, especially the soap opera forums!
There’s enough drama there already from all the characters! LOL

This evening we are celebrating my husband's birthday.

We had some baby back ribs, mac n' cheese and corn.

I'm still digesting, but we will be indulging in some chocolate cake in a little while, while watching GH.

@SouthernBee  Thanks for the prayers and I will be sending up some for you and yours too. 😊

Have a good evening all.
