Hi Y'all. Trying to find one of my Mom's recipes. She lined a 9x13 dish with ice cream sandwiches. Then I think she mixed cool whip and soften cream cheese and spread on top of ice cream sandwiches and drizzled with chocolate syrup  and chopped nuts and put in freezer for a couple of hours. Then set out a few minutes before serving. Technically this could be done in a smaller pan with the mini ice cream sandwiches and using less cool whip and cream cheese. Walmart has the neopoltian  ice cream sandwiches.😀😀😀 Ready to try this?

I am researching recipes for crockpot and pressure cooker meals. I have a small crock pot that is enough for two. 

I haven't cooked in the last 3 Sundays and considering doing this weekend BLTS and a lite dessert.

I took a short leave from here  to concentrate on my well being.

My IBS  had been acting up,i'm not sleeping much...and  very concerned about my friend  as she was found to have cancer back in spot where some had been removed...she has  had 4 different types of cancer  this year!!  Yes..thats what her doctors have told her!

She started radiation in her groin area this week-5days  for 5 weeks  and starts  chemo  iv's next week for how long??Don't know yet.

I have not been with her since she started her #1 treatment  but she sent me a text 2 days ago  and gave me her update.

We miss each other and going to lunch  ,etc but we live 5 miles apart  and painscake  sis knows not to call me if she wants to drive. Friends son is taking time off from his job to take her to her treatments.

I "Believe"  but still worried about her health,etc  and not seeing her.

ok..Tuesday of last week i had my bloodwork done for Medicare Wellness check-up  and saw my n/p Tuesday of this week.I need to keep calm to keep my IBS in control  and its very hard to do even with meds.

See her again in 6 months to have my hypothyroid bloodwork  again!Every 4-6 months!

Yard didn't get mowed yesterday because of rain...but its hot  and humid today  and i think he might be here today to mow yard.??

I was outside early this am..needed to do a little trimming on tree branches,some weeds needed cut down...i can't take the humidity  and had to stop cause i was light headed!

Daughter called me  later..  to tell me coke was on sale  again for $1.49 per 2 leiter bottles. Told her it would be too hot and humid  next few days to leave in her car  for very long.

So,  she will be bringing me more coca cola ,

plus

bringing me 5 cases of 24 bottles of spring water,

plus

maybe 10-12 gallons of spring water..tomorrow on her day off.

Next--- i need my eyes checked also

Thats all i'm going to say.😯

My heart goes out to you with all you are dealing with.

I feel badly for all your friend is going through.  All you can do is support her as best you can, and to try to take care of supporting her as best you can.  I know you are doing your best, and I will be praying for you and her.  It is so hard when your heart is breaking.

I have been in your situation, and it is so awful to see someone you care so much about go through all the xell that cancer patients go through.  My dear friend fought with valor, but did not make it.

So sorry your IBS is kicking up.  No fun with that, I do know.  I wonder if your doc could give you something to take the edge off your anxiety.  No shame in that!  We are all human and have our limits.  And do you have something to help with the IBS?

I know the weather affects everyone.  Please take care of yourself.  I pray you will soon feel better!

Thinkimg of you this am, I had a thought,  Are you taking a probiotic/prebiotic pill every day?  You may ask your doc if you are not.  You can buy this product at any drugstore without a script.  I take one every day.  It is designed to help with gut health.  Just a thought from someone who cares.....

I hope your friend tolerates her treatments ok.  It's a shame you can't visit her, but texts, emails, or phone calls are often better when people may not be feeling their best.  I mostly text or email my sister so she can answer when she feels up to it.

It's hard seeing our friends and relatives go through these awful times.🥺  So make sure you take your meds.

You be careful doing any kind of outside work or even walking when the weather gets hot like it's starting to do.  I have to get out and spray tomorrow morning very early.  I will probably have to leave some for the next morning too since I won't be able to get it all done before it gets too hot.  With all the rain we've been having my weeds are terrible and I have a lot of them.  Normally I only have to do it a couple of times, but this year is an exception.  And it's going to be in the 90s, with heat indices well over 105, which means a heat advisory.🥵

I am going to text my friend today  and start mailing some cards to her next week.

Our weather will be light rain today..and muggy...then heat wave most of next week also!

You also take care...esp. with weed spraying...i need to spray for poison ivy  and poison oak  when everything drys up again!
