@cowboy sam : Thank you. Not bragging on my cooking but everything tasted so good and so much better than the food delivery. SIL did a wonderful job shopping for me. She selected a beautiful beef roast that was on sale for $5.99 lb and still $26. I cut it in half with my electric knife and put in freezer for two meals. The country ribs were on sale for $2.99 lb and she had 3 trays that really look good.

You did a great job on your shopping and it is shocking on some items price increases. Better to stock up when on sale.

I know you enjoyed your visit with your great grand daughter and holding the precious baby.

Enjoy spending time with your family and using your new shower head.

Since I use a shower chair it is easier for me to use the lower hand held shower head.

Waiting to get up and see how my back feels before deciding what to do today. DH is still sleeping and wanted to sleep until 9.

Stay cool and enjoy your day.🤗❤🙏

i know exactly what you mean

when you are used to preparing food - and you enjoy doing so

not being able to do these things - relying on take out or other means bc you have to

is a little disheartening

i'm sending you all good vibes

that the epidural will help

you get the wheelchair you need - so you may be able to move around the kitchen to continue cook as you once did -

i know from years of reading your posts - all the meals you prepared for yourself and others - i felt the ♥️ you put into all your baking and cooking

@Yahooey : So cute. Thank you. SIL birthday is 8/20 and she told DH that all she wanted for her birthday is my yellow cake with the Hershey's chocolate frosting. DH said he would help me in the kitchen to do it. Normally SIL prefers to take the cake home and she has admitted to her brother that she eats the whole cake and doesn't share.

We have decided to make two cakes and hide one for her to take home. Then insist the other cake to be cut at our house since I hadn't baked anything in months.🤓🤓.

I took a pain pill last night. Thankfully today my back is really sore with just a little pain.🙏🙏

I am really scared doing the second epidural but praying for more improvement.

I was looking in my pantry and sad to admit that I have a lot of expired stuff this really makes me mad. I had been busy giving the extras to my SIL.

Hi Y'all: I have some news. DD suppose to get married sometime in September. The guy owns his home and has a good job with 14 year old daughter that lives with him. They live in Louisiana and DD and kiddos will be moving there. DD told her dad that she has known this guy for 19 years and dated a long time but both married someone else. Interesting to me that this is the first time we heard about this guy. He came last month and took them home for a week visit. Supposedly DD boss didn't check her leave time and when she came back and worked , when she received the pay check it was for only 4 hours. She asked DH for more money and he had already sent her several hundred dollars for the month, thankfully DH stated he didn't have the money.

Whatever this is: hope its true and she will be married and moving. All of them are supposed to stop for a quick visit in September while traveling to Louisiana. I am praying for the best for her. I am staying out of this and asking no questions and offering no help. But amazing this happened so fast. In May the desperate situation to move in a better house and then July trip to Louisiana and engagement announcement. Another soap opera.

Wow, you have been a busy bee!

Glad to hear that you finally got a chance to get and make some better food.  I hope you can find a way to continue to make at least some of your meals.  More enjoyable for you, and healthier too!

I hope everything goes smoothly for DD and her move/engagement.  🤞

@geezerette :Thank you. DH stated he didn't like green beans but he consumed two small bowls. We have a lot of left over ham.I don't know what to do with it since it was previously frozen . I'm not sure I can refreeze it. I was thinking about cutting in cubes to put in salads and adding to baked potatoes.

DH willing to help me in the kitchen.DH will continue to eat lunch out with his sister, and if I could cook something for Saturday and Sunday. I have easy things for my breakfast and lunch.

Really praying for DD. DH stated he will give her some money in September to help with the moving and that will be the last of it.

Enjoy your day and stay cool.🤗❤🙏

I'll be the first to admit I'm no cook, but do you have some sort of slow cooker you could make soup from your leftover ham?  Cut it up and add a few veggies and let it cook on its own.  Then you could freeze the soup for later for an easy meal.

It sure would help if DD were self-sufficient and didn't need your DH to be helping out.  You could use that extra money.

I've got errands and shopping this morning.  Trying to get everything done before it gets too hot.  It's supposed to get back to triple digits again in the next few days.  I got spoiled with a few days of cooler temps in August!

Take it easy.❤️

@geezerette : Great idea but DH doesn't like ham in his soup , but thinking cooking with a bag of northern dried beans. He likes soup made with hamburger meat and I have two packs of meat that needs to be used and freeze extra for second meal.

My Mom always called her hamburger soup "Depression Soup" because it included left over peas, butter beans etc. I had to modify the recipe for DH. I only add carrots and potatoes . He loves it with grill cheese sandwiches and the petite sweet pickles. Two great meal ideas.

Yes, with DD self sufficient would make a difference  in our budget. She stated fiance wants her to finishe her masters degree and law school as she had hoped for.

Definitely do your errands while its cool. Then enjoy your afternoon.❤🙏

Hi Y'all. Everyone busy and not posting?

Great day for me. Publix had salad mixes on sale and the Lean Cuisine frozen dinners. SIL went to two Publix to purchase everything that I needed. They had bogo for pork tenderloins  and decided to purchase. I cooked one years ago and it was dry and hope to find a recipe and method of cooking.

I was finally able to use my cubi jr. 2 today for 15 minutes.

Still enjoy eating different foods. Lunch today was lean cuisine and 16 ounces of salad and 2 glasses of water. Still struggling to increase my water.

Y'all stay cool.🤗❤🙏🙏

That's great that your SIL did more shopping for you.  I hope she will be willing to continue to do so, I think that will help you a lot.👍
