@SouthernBee

good luck with the insurance....

i say whatever model you choose - sit and ride until u are absolutely sure

like shopping for a pair of new shoes - i walk up and down until i'm sure -

this is a big ticket item - make sure you can steer easily - get on and off easily etc

you dont need me to tell you this - but dont let the salespeople bulldoze you

i have seen people - make really tight turns when they have boarded on a city bus

i'm sure it took practice - but those things can turn on a dime -

sending u positive vibes

@Yahooey :Thanks. Totally agree. Went to the  place this morning. Lady not really helpful and slightly rude. We were next in line for help and she helped someone else. Manager not in. Plus place in very busy area and difficult to enter and exit very small parking lot. Parking lot not smooth and difficult to walk on.

Returned home and called my insurance  company again. Told her of problems and different information. She verified they go by Medicare guidelines. She verified they will not pay for the wheelchair that I wanted. She gave me info on the approved wheelchairs. They are way more expensive, bigger, heavier.Only one could be broken down to put in the car and very heavy and too big to use in my house.🙄😯 So I called the place that DH uses. They said that they would give us a 10% military discount if we decided to purchase. Got to work on budget and see if eligible for another charge card. Told DH if and when we decide to make purchase will be in the store riding and make sure comfortable using it.Always something.

I know you are enjoying your new kitchen and other home improvements. Enjoy your weekend and stay cool.

They were really pressuring me to purchase a scooter= too big to use in my house and extra equipment to transport in car.🙄😯

will insurance pay the amt for the approved wheelchair and you pay the difference for the one you want?

or probably - either u get what u are approved of or no money at all

@Yahooey : No doesn't work that way. I have called my insurance company, I called the company that makes the chair I prefer and they verified insurance doesn't pay for that model. I showed DH photos and measurements of the approved ones and he agrees too big to use in the house.

Medicare will pay for one that would be great to use in the kitchen that raises the chair up to counter and stove top level but it is too big and wide for my small kitchen and house and it's almost $5000.🙄😯

Medicare will pay for these : But the Jazzy Carbon is what I need for me and my house and easy to fold up and light weight.Screenshot_20240809-085428_kindlephoto-1029256647.png

i know this is against the rules

but will store write up approved chair for reimbursement and sell u the unapproved chair and u pay the difference?

chair still be under warranty from manufacturer

of course the store has to carry the approved and unapproved versions

i'm bending the rules bc the rules are *&%##$

you should be able to upgrade and pay out of own pocket

@Yahooey : I appreciate the idea but not possible.😥😥😥

I really need a chair with higher back . The Jazzy Carbon has the higher back and good chair cushions. If Medicare pays : they pay 80% and I pay 20%. The place where DH uses has a lot of chairs but this one is better for someone short like me.It really moves and I had it on the low setting. Plus can put on manual if DH needs to push chair.

Good Morning Y'all. For my birthday DH gave me a very generous Publix gift card. Discovered this morning that it can't be used as payment on my Publix Instacart order. I will be asking my SIL when she is available. I will give her the card to shop for me and be able to purchase what I need that is on sale.

Hope your day and weekend will be more exciting.❤❤❤🤗🤗🤗🙏🙏🙏
