@MyShadowLove

i just did google maps to find out the distance

it is 1 mile each way - that is no biggie if the weather cooperates

i go there bc i like the supermarket - it looks clean, fully stocked and big

big is relative... of course

i have others that are smaller and closer but meh (icky)  to me

15 minute walks 1 way for fruits and veg - the supply moves quickly and fresh

i go where i gotz to go

i go to trader joe in the city to haul back stuff on the subway - 1 hr

other stuff - i buy in bulk from BJ - so there isnt really a whole lot i need to lug

mainly ice cream

when u are used to mass transportation and walking - it is a norm

i could have stuff delivered - but i dont want to

as my mom did - keep on moving

she was stil buying and carrying stuff in her late 80s and i keep telling her

let me do it - but she says

many of her younger friends could no longer carry - walk stairs bc they stopped

when i mean young - early 80s -

she didnt need a cane - she wasnt stooped over at 92

it was only when she got ill -.....

she walked everyday - used to be a longer distance and got shorter as she aged

when it was raining - where are you going?

walking... but it is raining.... i hae an umbrella

i dont do that - i dont mind walking in the soft falling snow

NOT a blizzard... just to clarify

morning @cowboy sam @MyShadowLove @SouthernBee @PamfromCT @dooBdoo @NEvans2 @loveschocolate @Tique @geezerette

with my limited stuff to cook in and who wants to cook in the heat?

harvested a japanese eggplant - the skin is thin and edible

sliced lengthwise - olive oil - salt and pepper

into the toaster oven

2 slices of bread - there are no condiments - bread isnt toasted

i was hungry and hot - it was plain and good - cant get fresher than that

did i tell you about my eggplant drama?

i usually start my seedlings early march - and they go into the ground in early may

lots of growers - stick a lot of seeds into a cell - then pull them apart and plant into the ground - the farm i volunteered did that - this guarantees a higher germination rate

i place 1 seed into 1 small cell - and hope it germinates

i know how many plants i want - i wanted 2 of each variety of asian eggplant

a week or 2 goes by - my tomato seeds germinated and nada for eggplant

i waited more more time but i had to lift the lid off my tray bc too much humidity will not be good for the tomatoes

i placed again single seeds into cell - waited again and nada

remember it takes weeks for something to appear

eggplant likes heat - but i dont have a heating pad or grow lights and i dont plan to get any -

so i did it again to do the seeds again - i had only 1 plant out of all that and since it was later in the season - i had 1 eggplant - 1 solitary sad eggplant

this year - started in january - got 1 plant

started again in feb - got another plant or two

again in march and got a few more

i was placing my seeds into clear coffee cups with the sippy lid which i taped over

so i placed 4 seeds into each cup each time - i had several cups

fast forward - i got 7 plants in total with various stages of growth

idk which variities i ended up with until they fruit

the first plant that i started in january - i already ate 1 eggplant and

last night - i harvest my 2nd - YUM

Good Morning!

Getting ready to jump in the shower and have to head on down to DMV to renew my License....I will stop by the Farmers Markets on my way home.

When I got up early this morning, I went outside and there were five adorable bunnies nestled around our front yard... just resting...They moved just a little when I went out and I just kind of stayed very still so there we all were just like statutes posing in the yard...LOL...They were so cute and I think they have realized that I am a bonafide chump!

@Yahooey ...I love Eggplant and have one sitting on my counter...Yours from your garden is bountiful and sounds perfect on a hot Summer day on its own with some bread...I often have a vegetable dish on its own and my husband will usually add some chicken or shrimp, etc...whatever his heart desires...as he tends to have more of a hearty appetite and I am more of a light eater.

@cowboy sam ...Try drying your new sweatshirt on high and that may shrink it a little, although you want to be careful that it doesn't end up child size either so just check it every now and then.

@SouthernBee ...Hope all went well at your Drs. appointment.

Another hot sunny day although we did have a little rain last night which freshened things up a little.

Wishing everyone a comfortable day...See ya Later!  😊

It will have in it 2 different vintage Joan Rivers pendants with chains on them.

Not sure if i will be going anywhere for lunch out today...it depends if pancakes neighbor calls me or not??

If not i will eat something from my freezer meals. I heated a Banquet speggeti    one last night  and it was yucky tasting...Smiley Sad
