@cowboy sam ...Just a suggestion that came to mind...How about checking with your "hunky yard guy" and see if he would be able to also take care of the debris in your yard after the Winter months and also during the Fall months?...It would be of such great help for you and you also would get the benefit of seeing him more often. 🥰

Good Morning Everyone!

Guess what?...The eggs have hatched in both birds' nests in windowbox and door wreath...We don't have a view of the nest in windowbox as it is deep down amongst the evergreens, but Mama & Papa bird have been busy flying back and forth with food in their mouths to feed their babies....The front door wreath is on our storm door and so we have a clear view of the teeny weeny little wriggly baby birds...with their teeny weeny little beaks opened at times....Squeeeee!...It is such a precious site...We don't like to open our front door very much, understandably, as we don't want to disturb the busy family but, every now and then, I carefully open it just to take a peek...They do adjust to usual activity and know that they are safe, but we have limited our use of the front door and have also alerted neighbors and friends...LOL

It's been a busy week...I went to New York to visit with my sister and nieces for a few days...I work part-time...only 15 hours/per week...which are flexible...so it works out perfect for my personal life...a really nice balance.

On my way home, I stopped at our Garden Center and picked up a few new perennial plantings which we will be planting today...More rain is expected later on.

I'm hoping that the bird family in our windowbox will have "flown the coop" within the next couple of weeks as it is overdue for a good cleaning out and the timing will be perfect to plant a selection of Summer flowers and get them started.

Oh I don't want to forget to mention...lol... Dinner  will be Scallops, Cole Slaw, Green Beans, Mashed Potatoes...

@Yahooey ...It was rather windy while driving which made it very difficult  for me to call out your name clearly and coherently, but I sure tried my best....LOL.

@Yahooey ...Great Moves!...You're off to a good jumping start!...lol

Gorgeous weather...I have windows opened....doing some housework and waiting for Meter Technicians from Eversource to come...They are performing routine gas meter inspections and exchanges.

Our little bird family (squatters) are waiting to greet them at the door...lol...When I scheduled a time frame with them, the woman in the office asked me if we have any animals...I told her about our ferocious watch cat, Hobo...lol... and I also mentioned our precious little bird "squatters" and she thought it was so cute and said that she would be sure to let the guys know that they must tread carefully when approaching our front door.  lol

Enjoy this beautiful day on your lovely patio with Zoe...It looks like we are in for some great Spring weather this week finally!

guess what? PB now offers pu at store for adeline

just for kicks - i tried buying it to see store shipping

boy - u have to enter a lot of info before that cost is given to you lol

69.00 to ship to store

either u let people pu or not - but dont flip flop

i'm glad it is now hanging out on the floor - still have not opened it

fingers crossed all is okay inside - it is such a large box and if i opened it

and examined all the pices. i doubt i can get it back inside

kinda like - all these items fit into this cute bag

and u stuff and stuff and it never goes back in the same again

the wreath is so purdy and matches ur new spring colors

i like that it looks soft - all wispy

truth be told - i have been known to pet plants that have fuzzy plummage

i have hugged trees - but i bet that doesnt surprise you lol

@Yahooey ...I agree... either have a p/u option or not...It also sounded like you had "White Glove Delivery" which explains the shipping cost...It is probably better to have an item, such as Adeline, delivered as it is rather delicate and must weigh quite a bit also...Your Electrician is gong to love you!..lol

I ordered the Wreath and decided to put it on the inside of our front door...We have a nice size foyer and it will look "purdy" there...I have two area rugs that I use for our foyer area...one for Fall/Winter months and the other for Spring/Summer months...I bet you can't guess what colors are in my Spring/Summer area rug?... lol

I don't understand why I'm not surprised at all that you hug your plants and trees...lol..I actually heard quite a while ago that it is healthy for our plants and flowers to talk and sing to them, so I admit that I also started this ritual whenever I would water them...lol...but it didn't last long...They did just as good before I started this ritual, so I figured they didn't like my singng and it was better to leave well enough alone!   😂

Hah!  Oh, my goodness, @Yahooey and @MyShadowLove!  You brought a huge smile to my face with your petting fuzzy plants, hugging trees, talking and singing to plants!  Isn't it funny what we do sometimes?  I remember reading studies about plants responding to positive sounds and "vibes" so who knows?  And I think we know as humans we respond to an environment rich in all of that lovely growth, foliage, blossoms (aside from the occasional sneezing!) so it might work both ways!😊

it was a gawgeous day yesterday 70 and sunny - went with some friends and worked on a farming project - it was my first time and the friend that brought us there has been doing it for several years

the project maintains a huge composting project that other parks benefit from

i mean H U G E

i was weeding out some beds from last year - to prepare for seeding

they have many beds and all foods harvested are donated to catholic worker soup kitchen

i may do this for a bit if they have openings - until it gets too hot

i cannot be out in the sun working for 3.5 hrs

i dont even do that on my own farm lol

here are some chickens they have - all eggs are donated to the same place

That sounds like "fun work" @Yahooey!  I'm with you about the heat, though...  limited in how long I'd last in the sun, the humidity, but what a cool project this is.

Aren't butterflies wonderful, @cowboy sam?

Random thought:  QVC has a fancy birdwatching thingy that, if I understand correctly, mounts on or near a window, takes pix of a bird that lands there.  Wouldn't it be fun if it would also recognize butterflies that might happen to find their way there for a quick stop?🦋
