@gloriajean

ur farm life sounded like a magical time for you - your family and friends

corn maze - i went through one once during the holidays - i get lost easily

i can imagine u looking high and low before you spotted your dad and biked your little heart out to deliver his lunch - a big girl's responsibility

i'm sorry to hear of his illness and ultimately selling the farm

that must have been so difficult -  thank you for sharing your story

i heard from a friend once that when she visited her grandma in the south

all the kids would gather round and their job was to shell peas -

i never knew people shelled peas

why cant the pod be consumed? is it too tough?

a pea is kinda soft - unlike a dried bean to be used for soup

so the pod should be kinda soft too, no?

just consumed a lot of corn - bought some ears at the market

i bet urs is super sweet - freshly picked

until you eat it really really fresh - you just dont know

how many ears of corn grow from a single stalk?

i know i have a lot of questions - hope you dont mind

i bet the canning never stops - if it isn't one crop - it is another

i forgave my sister - i even contacted her if she wanted some of my raspberries

she returned the text days later and thanked me for thinking of her

but she passed on the offer -  but they were gone already - burp

a pleasure knowing more about you also

Hello y'all. New cell phone delivered this afternoon. I set everything up in DH name. Had a couple of hiccups transferring to new phone. Tracfone app verified everything transferred  including all the data, phone minutes, text  and old phone is inactive. What I don't understand is the old phone is still active for calls, text and emails.Plus all apps are still on the phone. I thought that once everything was transferred would not be able to use the old phone.🤔🙄😮😮

Then on my cell phone the text app is strange. I have a big text icon on the home screen of my phone that moves around and difficult to operate other stuff. I have changed everything in the settings and text app but didn't help.

Tomorrow will play more with DH phone to try to learn everything.

@SouthernBee

i dont know for sure

but a charged old phone depending on the brand

for instance - i have an iphone which is NOT used as a phone so no phone plan

but it can be used to msg - email - internet

as long as it is connected to a wifi source

i believe the tracfone may be similiar -

it should not be able to receive calls unless the mothership did not shut off that feature

if it is the same number - only 1 phone should be ringing... they both ring?

good luck

@Yahooey : Thanks. Yes, both were ringing. I am not a tech person but this is the 4 th tracfone that I have set up and transferred and this was different. Same number for both phones. I was tired and didn't feel like calling tracfone again.

I had finished my laundry while waiting for the mail. I had ordered a tower fan for the family room and it was delivered with the  phone.I opened the fan box and put the base on the fan. Decided to eat a sandwich before working with the phone. I put the phone on the charger and read the manual while waiting for it to charge. Called tracfone and was disconnected a couple of times. I tried to use the website but it was slow and decided to call. I wrote down everything they told me to do. Then during the activation process had pop up ads and trying not to click on them.

I was in the den and DH came in and wanted to watch tv. I told him that I was trying to set up his phone. He didn't want to go back to his tv room and stayed in the den and turned the tv on. I had everything in my lap and didn't feel like moving to another room.

@Yahooey : Well some things must have happened during the night. DH old cell phone can now only do emergency calls. So on the new phone after I check the important apps like his patient portals and everything is ok , will do a factory reset on the old phone. SIL didn't want his old phone. I tried to explain about tracfone and cheaper. Oh well. Probably will donate the old phone.

Plus the issue with my cell phone is gone. I must have slipped into The Twilight Zone yesterday afternoon.

DH will go get us something to eat so that I can cook something for tomorrow after church. I want to cook before it gets really hot.

Later will set down and play with DH new phone. I need to order a longer charging card and a good sturdy case since I drop stuff.

Stay cool and enjoy your weekend.

Up date on my son:

On his CLL (lukemia)

His numbers are in low 20's  when they are in single digits dr. plans on lowering his chemo pills plus his med to keep his kidneys healthy from chemo med.

He now  doesn't  has a 50 lb. weight   lifting limit.

He can't tolertate the hot sun or too cool in a c/a room.

I still need to adjust to his :new" look...thinner and gaunt face  but,

he says he is doing good!..He didn't get sick/or lose any hair from his chemo pills he takes twice a day.

When he was  helping taking  down my big fenced   dog pen for my dogs that have passed away...he  once took a break  quietly walking away  and sat down in a lawn chair to rest a bit and drank some water.🤗

His  teenage grandson, that came with them

Plus his.. son-in-law  was needed and  who furnished some battery operated  tools to loosen bolts helped us take the fence down...He.was a big help!Heart

"Today" son&d/i/l are going to a memorial for her aunt at a park 12 miles away...if it doesn't rain more!??

Thunder woke me up in middle of night  and enough rain to get a good ground soaking!

"Sunday "...they will decide how to arrange fence sections in his truck bed! We hope he can take all sections but not sure yet!  3 might be too big???

"Monday" morning son&d/i/l  will leave to go home in Mo.

Grandson, will be staying at my grandaughters house until end of month then his parents will come up from Mo. to take him home.

Not sure yet what" i" might be doing with them today?

We might be going to a" like" Tractor Supply Store  to pick up a few items for things they can't in stores near their town?

After they get back from momorial service for her aunt...or i will go to grandaughters house to spend more time w/them..or both...lol!

My daughter was with us yesteday  and  my son would like to see his 2 brothers before he goes back home.

Hi everyone!  Thanks, cowboy sam, for the update on your son.  He's in my prayers.  I would like to ask for prayers for my daughter, Darla. She has EDS (Ellis Danlos Syndrome) a hyper-mobility disorder. joints come out of joint and have to be put in place again, her PT does this. She is in a lot of pain, lives on pain pills, has a concussion that doesn't go away, bad Asthma. She had an Asthma attack while driving with me and the twin girls, this afternoon, among other things. She doesn't have cancer but she has a lot of other ailments and she has to take care of her seven year old autistic daughters. They are little sweethearts, but their autism gets them into tantrums, that they cannot control. They are getting help, but have a long way to go.  Thanks for listening.

Tomorrow we celebrate the girls' birthday.

Darla's husband is a great Dad for the girls, but he works as an electrical engineer in the basement and helps when needed.

It hurts as a Mother to see her in so much pain.

dear predsHeart and friendsHeart

We did go to big catch all store yesterdayafternoon...

They had the 24pks of  bottles of"Spring Drinking Water@$3.43 a case!

I bought 5 cases and left one at grandaughters house for others to drink.,

plus

they had a very good selection of pkg of

dried fruit....mango,bananachips,   apricots,and pineaple  that i bought!

I also paid for son&d/i/ls items as i knew he needed to fill his pickup truck with gas today.

Today...

I was outside  around 8am this morning trimming branches off 2 trees by where my dogs pen used to be so when my lawn guy is mowing that area!

I have my pull wagon full again but didn't take to burn pile in back of my house or a big pile on the ground from yesterday!...can do that before Wednesday.Besides i needed to stop as i needed a shower to get rid of  fir tree smell   and  fir tree needles and seeds out of my hair..l!

The 3 guys will be over before long to load up the fencing from dog pen...hoping he can take them them all but??not sure if truck bed will hold them all!

uh my grandaughters dh joked about the   large size i had for my dog pen for the2 dogs...it was big enough for nice size bedoom...lol ....and my 2 dogs were small,..lol!

Today

Son will see his one brother  that lives few blocks away from me after truck is loaded  and then he will return to my house later. .

He called  his other brother and told them next time he came back he would have more time to see them.

They will leave in the morning-Monday to go back home in Mo.

I will stop gabbing now and end this post.
