@gloriajean :  Wonderful that you were able to get some exercise and with your dog, Bobby. I love to read about everyone's pets

I have been on the forums for a few years and trying to remember Show Me.

I use a standup walker and determine to keep doing but very slow.

Praying that your day will be a good one.

Good Morning Y'all. Daughter will be finishing her last week of college next week. Everything is so hectic for her and she decided to take next week off.

Talked with DH and we had a few ideas how to help. I sent her an email and some photos and questions. She really could use a medium size freezer and has extra space for one and thankfully the freezers are on sale. She doesn't have extra money for fast food but would like the freezer for more storage for things like frozen breakfast foods, dinners and anything that she and the kids can put in the microwave for a quick meal. Anything that will help since the kids are out of school. I spent almost all day yesterday researching freezers and reading reviews. Thankfully purchased one from Home Depot and it will be delivered on Monday. Orders will be delivered today from Sams Club and Walmart for items like cereal, fruit cups, fresh fruit, mac and cheese, ravioli. Then next Wednesday will send delivery of frozen breakfast sandwiches, waffles, pancakes, individual pizzas, entrees. I am thinking we will in the long run save some money on tips and delivery fees because able to send one big order every month instead of weekly orders.

Several of my recipes that I sent her had instructions on how to double the recipe to make two and put one in the freezer for another quick meal.

i had to stop and rest a few min on steps of a church!Smiley Sad

Opened one of the 2 leiter bottle of coke and daked a couple of swollows. then slowly walked last6 blocks home! I must have walked a mile round trip

Whew ,

i overdid it walking in the sun but it is in the 70's!I have changed clothes and took a tylenol and am cooling down...and sipping on a glass of cold coke!

My cell phone is ok..i had a tec talk to me from Tracfone earlier this morning apparently i pressed a wrong button.Smiley Embarassed.and all is good now...my fault not tracfones!

@cowboy sam : I am exhausted reading about your walking. Relieved that you are home resting and staying  cool.

We enjoy the cell phones but hate issues especially when we caused the problem. I know because I have done the same thing.

I know that I have never gave birth to a child but that doesn't mean that I don't understand and care. DH and I both grew up poor, I never was hungry or without food like DH. But my neighborhood friends had a lot of candy and fast food. I had some but not very often.

We have a commercial in our area from Feeding American about a young boy coming home from school and searching the kitchen for something to eat and has nothing. This really upsets me ( we donate to them) but to think that the grandkids could be looking for something while I have a pantry, fridge and freezer stuffed. Just my opinion and thoughts. I added more to the grocery list this morning: bread , butter, milk ,eggs and syrup. Plus a surprise of fresh strawberries, frozen pound cake and ice cream .😀 So thankful for the internet and able to order and deliver food.

I also came from a very poor family....but now i still am in

do i really want it? or do i really need it?  at times when ordering from websites.

It just depends..lol!   Clothes..i hate bying new ones!!!

"if" i can find  less priced ones in very good condition in thrift stores

or going on ebay to buy my favorite brand of purses  or jewelry.

We have no stores in my town to buy new clothing!etcSmiley Sad...just food, etc.

well ok..i remembered that Dollar General Store does carry some clothing items...like socks, etc.

I may check out a small freezer from where you bought your daughters.

@cowboy sam : I totally agree and understand. I just spent $80 for repair and alterations on 6 still good Susan Graver skirts from the 90's that needed new elastic , three jackets that needed the arms shorter, three skirts cut off and hemed. Having extra thoughts on purchases for me if really necessary. Looking for more sales and coupons. Paying for the Walmart + shopping, Sam's Club membership and Amazon prime is a necessity to be able to order and deliver for us and family.

I was trying to post a photo of the freezer but can't. I opted for a frost free and it has an alarm to sound if freezer door isn't closed. Plus blinking light on the bottom to indicate the freezer is working. It is a Frigidaire 13 cu ft.

Don't understand why I can't post photos🙄.

Just a thought about buying new clothes.  My daughter bought me new tops and capris and shorts at Costco, Sams and Walmart when I had to go to the Nursing home for rehab when I broke my hip. All were very cheap, and I like them.  Wear them all the time. She likes to surprise me with new ones, but now I don't need any.  She got her Dad some shirts there too for Father's day.  We are poor, living only on SS.

So this is great to have.

waving hello to @SouthernBee @gloriajean @cowboy sam @MyShadowLove

@Mj12 @geezerette @loveschocolate @dooBdoo

me & zoe are fine - just got back from swimming

okay - i'm an idiot - i dont watch the news

i do see clips on youtube so i knew about the canadian fires but didnt really pay any attention - when there are warnings about calif fires and all kinds of natural disruption....

i dont really smell it.... so when i smelt the smoke - i thought a new neighbor moved in and was smoking....

i was ticked off - on and off i would smell the smoke for the past few days

darn... he must work from home - bc it wafts through my window in the daytime

yesterday 5am - i smell the smoke

really???? isnt that kind of early to start smoking

i went to the yard in the morning - zoe hung out

as the day went on - i saw the weird coloring and finally a light bulb

it is NOT the neighbor  - wildfires... got zoe indoors

she was not happy

today it is much much better - i'm still fighting aphids - i didnt know it would take 2 weeks of spraying every 3 days - i saw very few bc i thought one and done

so the 2nd time - i saw really a few and so i googled...

just sprayed 1/2 hr ago
