my verdict - gazpacho is not for me

i prepared Gordon Ramsay's recipe

cuke, red and green pepper, 2 lbs tomstoes, green onions, sliced garlic, bread

seasoned and press together overnite

i just whizzed it in the vitamix and am disappointed - perhaps i didnt do it properly but i dont think so.... spent money and wasted my tomatoes

it is a cold veg drink - yes it has bread and seasoning but....

Reminiscent of my days when i whirled kale, blueberries, banana and water

i dont buy peppers often - the colored ones are 2.80-3+ dollars a pound

that is crazy .... so this soup cost me 6.00 + my precious tomatoes

i lubs lubs lubs the cold tomato soup

going to pick more and make another batch

this is for tomorrow's lunch when niece visits

she is going to fresh pick at the farm

a few of the tomato plants are not looking good

turning yellow and dying off - so many tomatoes are still on it - sigh

i sprayed it yesterday - hoping to keep the ickies from spreading

it isn't pesticide - i spray with a mix of Hydrogen Peroxide + water

i will serve both soups w/focaccia which i will bake tomorrow

sorry for the rant - 

maybe others will enjoy it but not as much as the tomato soup

We have been away at the beach 🏝 for the past week, I could not log in from there.  Using same computer, password, just in a

I think your gazpacho got a bit over processed.  I've always had it 

more like a salad chopped up in tiny, small pieces, in a bowl, but small pieces. Sorry your poor tomatoes 🍅 were wasted.  I do love it, we also put corn kernels cut from fresh steamed corn. They are put in last to stay whole.  Sorry about your big bug -  bet your kitty would have been skeered.

Your SIL needs a spanking. Barring that, she should have to stand in the corner.  To my mind, you should turn over all communication to your DH.  She takes advantage of your good heart 💜.  NO special tea for her!|

dear preds  and friends

My neighbor is   now out of state on a family vac.fishing trip and will be gone until Saturday!

So  yesterday i walked by myself early-mid afternoon  and decided to stop at son's house.

Son was in his big pick-up truck getting ready to go see some friends but stopped to talk to me.  I wasn't close enough for him to breathe on me!

I mentioned  i might stay and  talk to his adult son  but was advised not to as he works part-time at our local hardware store and "covid" is going around the workers there and my g-son might have it as he was having some signs of it!!

G-son came out of house to talk to me but stayed  a distance away from me....sigh  another person to worry about now for a few days!

No plans for today.

The street in front of house looks kinda wet   hmm maybe we had rain during the night???

With mattress flipped over and new ceiling fan i'm sleeping better,and not getting up during the night to look out window or  looking at   a clock!

Hi all,

Got 2 new types of teas today to try.  I was so in the mood for tea the other day and got a lot of help on their favorites.  Forgot my tea list,  but, remembered some of the names they gave me.  That's a wonder of wonders!!!  LOL

@cowboy sam  hope your son is doing better now too.  

Forgot to add, this month, I've been keeping track of sunup times.  I don't track many things but some things I think are fun, esp. if it's the weather.

I now have a sour stomach after talking to #2 sons wife  as i called to check on her as Wed. when i went to see them she told me she had a rough night and wasn't feeling good.

But after a bit her attitude toward me changed..and told me that she must have looked bad to me as ....i hadn't seen her w/o make-up on and eye brows not done   blah!,blah!...weird i thought but i told her no.that wasn't it.

Uh then i heard a voice in the background...it was her mom  and then things uh went down hill!

I gave her a up date on Curt...then she started quizzing me why his insurance wouldn't pay for his medicne as her mom had same benifits as his, 

and insurance pays for all her meds etc....well i started losing my voice by talking "calmly" to her but shortly after i had trouble with my voice  and we said good bye!

WWP???

Then i remembered that Curts insurance would pay so much for his pills but he "couldn't afford his co-pay" and thats when he got help from pharmacy company for free chemo pills for a year! 

So i did send her a text  to let her know !

So sad that d/i/l had to treat me they way she did because her mom was there listening to us on the phone Just like  how her mom treats people.
