I went out for breakfast this morning.  I needed a break from cooking and doing dishes.

Went to TJ's for some stuff for my daughter to take back to school.  Then went to Mariano's for some other things.  Couldn't escape the grocery stores today.

I'm sorry about all these dear friends and family members with health issues.  I've been so frustrated dealing with my dad and everything that's been going on with him.

He calls his appointments "meetings."  He goes to socialize rather than discuss his medical issues.  I have to ask all the questions and get all the information while he sits there and chit chats with the doctor about where they went to school, where they grew up, sports - anything and everything.  That is just his nature.  He's very social.  Me, i'm anti-social.  I want to get in and out, get the facts, and leave.

He's desperate for some sort of treatment, but everything is so risky.  The oncologist mentioned surgery.  Yes, he'll do it.  Cardiologist said too risky.  Heart procedure to get him off blood thinner so there's less of a chance of bleeding from tumor.  Yes, he'll do it.  Specialist said it's too risky.  Oncologist saidorall chemotherapy.  He wants to do it.  He has no idea what the side effects are from that.  At this point, I think he's better off just monitoring it.  It hasn't spread.  It's a non-aggressive cancer and very slow growing.  I forgot to mention his lungs are filling with fluid.  He has to see thepulmonologistt to get his left lung drained.  He's done that 4 times since May.

My sister is no help making any kind of decisions.  She is going to pray the cancer away.

Sorry for the rant.  Smiley Sad

Hang on.  I understand.  My Dad is goes his own way, no matter what.  Although health care is what I know, I try to reason, explain, warn, he say I’m hassling him, being a snot, treating him like a child. Nothing works, not reason,tears, anger.  He is belligerent with Docs, plays tricks with his medical information.  He says he’s doing what he wants, which he always has. I know it’s fear and anger, with confusion thrown in, but it doesn’t make it easier.

Complaints over. 😕

@Drythe

I'm so sorry about that.  You can only do so much.

My dad doesn't get beligerent.  I think he's just so desperate for a solution that he isn't seeing things clearly.

It's tough either way.

@Yahooey

I’m going to try not to get lost again!  Thank you all for the notes, and the special breadcrumbs.

@Yahooey,  Nope, not fancy a bit.  Plain food, no special ingredients, no recipes.  French bread 🥖 is easy-peasey, tomato aspic, lemon curd, old family recipes made many, many times - Southern here!

Now for fancy, I got Sillabub!  🙃

Just saying hi to all Lovelies!

Has anybody heard from @Southern Bee?  She, like many others here, work so hard cooking and entertaining.  Hope she is resting up.

Kiddos went home tonight,  Winston is pooped from all the activity, and back to his evening snooze on the top of the back of the FR sofa.  We all had a good time.

Lubs to all and extra lubs for those in challenging times!

@Southern Bee hasn't been around.  She was so busy preparing all her good food.  I hope she's getting some rest and everything is okay.

Winston needs some rest too.  Toot and her brother wore him out.  Back to his regularly snoozing schedule.  LOL
