@Witchy Woman ...We will give him credit for now since he is recovering from a virus and an injured foot so there isn't much he can do except play with the remote, rest and get well...as quickly as possible!...lol
Since he is very active and loves his profession as a builder, I bet that, when he does retire, he will keep himself busy working on personal projects and, perhaps, taking on smaller projects for others...You have a beautiful home that you built together and, if I recall correctly, he has a spacious work space also
Oh and your lovely B&B...You could move in there and work out visitation with each other!...We have it all figured out!...So I think the odds are in your favor that your marriage could survive a full retirement!
😂
I had forgotten that @Witchy Woman's husband is a builder... wonder if there's a Habitat for Humanity group nearby needing a hand?😊

According to the many articles I've read about turmeric supps, approx 1500mg per day usually divided into two or three doses taken with food is recommended. That amount is for the curcuminoid component of turmeric and not just a total amount of turmeric powder. Curcuminoids are what gives us the anti-inflammatory and pain killing benefits. That is important to know when taking turmeric supps. Look for a turmeric with 100% curcuminoids + pepper. If you see 'root powder', 'blend' or 'proprietary blend' on the label beware of it's lack of containing adequate amounts of the good stuff.

Although I was not here long, I knew Preds was very special.
And I also knew ShowMe for a while before she passed. Also very special. People like that are not only good, they bring out the good in others. Does anyone here remember ShowMe, as well? I am sure they are buddies now.
@PamfromCT, I knew ShowMe... from many years back. Even before she was adopted by Mr. Lucky, her dear Siamese kitty. And then I participated on the Mr. Lucky threads after that, and a small (but mighty!) group of us... including ⭐️Preds⭐️ and @loveschocolate... started emailing with her when Marie learned of her own cancer diagnosis in 2015. Long while ago, it seems. (sigh) Bittersweet memories.💔❤️

@dooBdoo, Thank you so much for posting this. This fact only stresses the importance of your PCP knowing fully what you are taking. No such thing as harmless. And so many people think that whatever you can buy off any shelf, without a script, is safe.

Turmeric works for me but not just any turmeric. I look for one with 100% curcumin extract (standardized to 95% purity) + black pepper added to it for absorption in the gut. Be sure to read the label carefully. If you see 'blends', 'blended with' or 'proprietary' that's a good indication the supp contains a mixture of turmeric spice root powder (cheap stuff) and extract (expensive stuff) which would be reflected in the lower price. Pure extract is what you want b/c that contains the active component (curcumin or curcuminoid) which is what gives us relief from pain/inflammation. Recommended amount is approx 1500 mg daily, usually divided into 2 or 3 doses taken with food.
Some people say that turmeric never worked for them. That might be b/c they weren't taking the extract but rather the root powder. Another reason why some say it doesn't work could be b/c their dose was too low. Dosage is important.
Currently I am taking this one from amazon. The price is outstanding for what you are getting here.

@SilleeMee : Thank you for the information. I ordered a 30 day supply of the other to try but will probably try this and then decide about future order. My body has always been difficult and different because I was a premature baby with cerebral palsy. A lot of things other people take with no issues normally bother me. My current arthritis medication causes heartburn but I tolerate it better than so many other options. Every time I discuss something with my doctor he just says keep trying and hope you can find something. I don't take the arthritis medicine every day because I don't like taking heart burn medicine on a regular basis. So I just try not to complain and do the best that I can.

@SouthernBee, Your post made me cry. I am sorry for what you have had to endure, and you are heroic to me. I mean really a hero. Not wanting to start a problem, but if one has a problem with a delicate tummy, maybe you should avoid black pepper. I dunno. Your doctor could tell you, I am sure.
Take care, honey, and I hope you are doing better soon.
Those onions!

@PamfromCT : Thank you but me not heroic just dealing with reality and try to stay busy and not sit down and give up. I do sometimes have issues with pepper. My doctor suggested a herbal tea for extra energy and it had pepper in it but my friend was excited to try it and she enjoyed the tea with out any issues. A few months ago she suggested a tumeric supplement but it did nothing for me. Please don't cry for me, I need to do something to make you laugh. I'm still looking for practical and special Christmas gifts. Ya got any good suggestions and maybe something with a big discount and of course free shipping.😳😀🤗❤️

@dooBdoo, Thank you for your post. I still think of her, how well she handled her apartment, her food, her laundry. despite everything, she was so brave and determined. Did not know her long, but I really felt she could make it. It tore my heart out when she found a good home for Mr. Lucky and there was the last time. I never even knew her real name. Did she have a sister, living far away? Can you tell me more about Marie, if it is appropriate only.
Before I had to quit because of my back, I volunteered a day a week for about 5 years in a skilled nursing unit of a home for the elderly poor. A few residents lasted a very long time, and we became fast friends. I think of them often, as I do relatives and friends who have passed. They became like family to me.
So very sorry if I am depressing people. In person, I have been told I am very funny. Imagine that!
