Hope everyone had a Happy Easter. We just had our kids for dinner. GD had to work and SIL went fishing. We had no problem with that. He finished up his radiation and got to ring the bell on Good Friday. He deserved to go fishing. Sent dinner home for them. After three straight days of food shopping, cleaning, and pre-making what I could, I'm done. We had a good time. Dinner was good and the company was good. I'm taking the day off tomorrow. Just going to chill. It's supposed to be a nice day again tomorrow and I will probably take the dog for a walk.❤️🐰

@NEvans2,  What a special day for your SIL to ring the bell!   Thank you for sharing that with us!❤️  (((hugs)))

it all sounds wonderful and thanks for giving me insight on the meal

I never heard of Easter cheese @NEvans2 and the paska

a friend once told me making horseradish made everyone cry

I had to go and look up both paska and Easter cheese, @NEvans2 and @Yahooey.   I love learning about new foods, especially those dear to a family's culture and growing-up years.

@NEvans2, How wonderful to be able to ring that bell!  Now that is what I call a perfect Easter.  Blessings to your SIL and your family.

Hey, hello there, @NAES1!   How nice to come upon your post!  Thank you for the kind words.  This is a friendly thread where anyone can pop in and out with a comment, or just read, stay and "sit a spell" if they want, with no pressure to post or to try and keep up with our shenanigans and hijinks.

Lots of warm hearts and gentle spirits here.❤️

That's great that your son could visit for Easter.  I think you said he travels a lot, so I know you cherish the time together even more than before.

I'm so, so sorry about your husband.   My prayers for him and for his medical team, and for you, too -- be sure to take good care of yourself.

Thank you for all the work you do to protect and care for animals in your area -- I know it's been an ongoing passion for you.

Take care.❤️

@SouthernBee, Some people on those public questions can be snarky...  on some of the items, you can click on the vendor name in the listing and privately ask about the product -- I know I've done that a couple of times but can't recall exactly how I did it.   I hope you have good luck with this!   @Yahooey is so kind to find products and resources for us and I think @Drythe's idea was a great one, too!

@SouthernBee, Sounds like you have a great candidate for your new portable DVD player.  I just got one from Amazon.

It is a 17.5” portable DVD player with a 15.6” large HD screen, with a 6 hour rechargeable battery.  $134.99, with almost all five star reviews.

The new tv DH bought a while back is as complicated as operating a spaceship.  Even he has difficulty with the DVD system at times...yes, even Mr. Mechanical.  I do like watching DVDs, mine and also from our library,  And few people are as non-mechanical as I am.  Oh, my DB.  Just like our Dad.  My mother had a tool box!
