Hey Preds and Friends

Just checking in.  Trying to rest when I can.  I feel

not so great, but I'm managing.   Went for a Covid test this morning.   Uh, not fun 👃🤧😩

@momtochloe. Your photo looks like my Bertie!  He is a 9 year Old Puggle.

For a while now we have been adopting older rescues.  Bertie’s Mom had to go to hospice.  She thought her brother was going to take care of him, he did not.

Brother put him out in the yard and left him. The neighbors put out a box with a towel in it for him to sleep in, and set out dry food and water.  After 3 months of him living alone, out in the cold, they posted his photo on the neighborhood community page.  We saw his face and went right over.  Such a loving, happy, funny, boy.  He hopped right in the car with our Lab, and said, ‘where we going?’

I know some here are missing their buddies, and of course they will never be replaced.  But just a note to say older pets are great, and have so much joy & love to bring, just in case you might not feel up to a kitten or puppy.  Bertie was house trained, loves company, walks, his Lab, and naps.  He needed no training, fit right in, and has given us so much happiness.

He has more gray now, but still putters right along.

Happy Holidays to all.

Bertie

@loveschocolate will the bigger compound be big enough for all of us?

it seems @Mj12 is dragging her feet on the christmas tree farm and spa unless she is busy selling christimas trees at the moment

@Yahooey , sure! We will make do! It's a house right on the lake....in the mountains! Mountain View's everywhere!

@Drythe, Bertie is one cutie pie!  Who wouldn’t fall in love with that face?  He’s also one lucky pup to be adopted into such a loving situation.  We will never understand why some people neglect/abuse animals. But a story like Bertie...well, it reaffirms my belief in the goodness of people.  Wish I could see Bertie in person.  Bet he’s a big kisser.  All my best to your whole family.
