Oh sorry @Yahooey , I live in a condo so the HOA is contracting for the buildings roof but I did just find out that the compressor for my a/c is actually built into the condo's huge a/c so all he had to do is add coolant and all is well now.  Thank goodness as it's going to be in the 90's tomorrow and the humidity is rolling in . . . blech.
