@geezerette : Thank you. They said everyone is denied in the first round. I'm doing a lot of praying and staying positive, but still frustrating. Long process. Then wheelchair will be ordered and helping DH file with VA to approve chair lift for his car. I have been considering purchasing the manual wheelchair cause my widow friend  said she could  put in in the backseat of her car and stated she would push me in the wheelchair. But waiting on the eye surgeries and any other possible expenses. My medical necessities list is long.
I found some chair exercises for balance on Facebook that is better than what I have. Grow Young Fitness DVD For Seniors.Afraid to order on Facebook but supposedly sale still expensive for 1 dvd 📀 in each case. I found better deals on EBay and with free shipping. They should be delivered next week. I still have my instruction sheets from my physical therapist for exercises to help balance but that a DVD would be much easier to follow.

I also found video on Facebook that a product is available: fold up chair that can be put on the floor to help someone that has fallen ,but not injured ,but needs help getting up off the floor. Hopefully a good price for this with the next Amazon prime days. DH said that would be good to have available. The product is called:Electric chair lift, stand up independently from Floor. Yes, talking about extra expenses but items to help us to live independently as long as possible.

Still haven't heard anything from the funeral director. I have her email address from her company and this morning sent her email requesting everything we needed help with and attached documentation of all our payments and contacts with that insurance company.

I told DH that I will be giving him a bill for all my research hours and other secretarial services cause I don't sit around every day doing nothing.

Hope your weekend has been more fun and interesting. Have a Blessed week.❤️❤️🙏

@geezerette @cowboy sam @PamfromCT @Yahooey and all of Preds special friends. What a day. Office was 5 minutes from our house  but roads under construction to add extra lanes etc and at 9:30 a.m. traffic still heavy including big trucks.Arrived at the new endocrinologist office: not handicapped accessible. Front had 3 steps to climb, for some no big problems. DH had to help and thankfully we had extra walking cane in the car . Plus difficult for me to see the steps. DH was struggling to hep me and open the door. Nice young man came out to help. He helped get me seated and helped DH with my walker. Then given extra forms to fill out. I had preregistration on line and completed a lot of the forms. DH had to complete the forms. We waited 45 minutes. Put in one room and doctor told me to take shoes and socks off because he wanted to look. DH said he cut my toenails because difficult to get me out and my insurance doesn't pay for podiatrist: doctor stated: stupid insurance. Then went down long hall to the doctors office. He was looking at my information in the computer. He turned to DH and said: you need to go and get paper copy of her Dexa Scan results and hand deliver to him at next appointment. The stated next appointment and I said when eye surgery scheduled. He said work that out at front desk. Then stated needed blood work done today in same office. Scheduling person wanted me to return two days after my first eye appointment and asked for another appointment and it will be in after noon with heavy traffic. We had to wait over 30 minutes for the lab work. Returning home we were in the lunch time traffic and dealing with emergency vehicles trying to move in the traffic.  DH said: Please contact your pcp and explain everything and request another doctor and handicapped accessible. I sent email in patient portal and simple explained in 1 thru 4 order . PCP replying late this afternoon that she would refer me to someone else. The doctor was ok but too much other stuff to deal with. We are both worn out and sore and DH still not feeling great. Always something.

@SouthernBee

So sorry for all you are going through.  I do understand what it is like, sorry to say.  It all relies on people who care, and people who do their jobs.  I have seen docs who were good and great, others who were not very smart or not very caring.

The good ones are a treasure.  The others are to be endured until they are replaced.

I had some results from my COVID and brochontis early this hear - yup, the same drugs that help you can have some lasting bad ill effects.  Referred to a dingbat doctor.  finally, figured out a solution and saw a very good doctor.  The system does not work well for us when we have to fight for good care.

May you be protected and receive the very best of care you deserve,

Love,

Pam

@SouthernBee

If you had blood work done at first dr. office  have you your test results yet??

You have been very concerned over your vit D being low and dextra scan??

I have had very low vit. d for years  and taking script drugs or vid D over the counter has too many side affects on me  so i don't take anything for it  and  my np  is ok with it.

I know it takes time to get results for things that matter too us  but sometimes its out of our hands....this is my refference to AT&T phone !!

After 5 phone to calls  them and them saying   a tech  was needed to come to my house to set it up   my Advanced( -APA )and  when 2 different appointments were made no one came or called!!!

I finally stated to phone call servece rep  on call #6...i have had it with all the promises etc!....

then he tells me  that"i don't need a tech"!!! and i can set up my AT&T advanced -APA myself  but i needed to wait for a second unit to be sent too me...then wait another date to set it up!!!

And  i was to send first unit back  still in its box! And wasn't sent a return lable to do so...i took it to hardware store for pick up from UPS..2 days later UPS  returned it to me...they refused to return it too AT&T...manager explained it to me..new agreement between the 2 companies UPS&AT&T!!  So,i still have it...smh!

ok...after all that waiting,etc...when the time  from AUG.,and Sept came to set it up. .

The  man (from AT&T call center)

I was told it  i could do it  myself Smiley Surprised and would take 30 min. maybe....well i had it set up in less time i was told!!

Now, this week

anothers neighbors garbage service  truck has caught the AT&T phone/internet line  coming across my side of street near a pole and its  unraveling and falling apart  and hanging down...

i told a neighbor i will not call them!!!! ...

as i was told many times they won't  repair, or replace  their phone lines!

If neighbor on otherside of me is having them for service..they can call them  and report it!

@geezerette : I do not like the case that I purchased for my iPad Air. It covers the camera! Frustration  removing the case to take photos. We are dealing with a lot of stuff requiring us to send photos of our documentation.
Your case for your iPad- do you really enjoy it and does it cover the camera?

I need to respond to several post but have been very busy. Any help greatly appreciated.

@PamfromCT : Thank you and totally agree.

DH had appointment with his pcp on Wednesday. I was in his patient portal reading what his doctor posted. He stated 3 extra concerns were discussed with patient and listed them. This was not true. Stated needed to lose weight, exercise, and low fat diet.
DH has been slowly losing weight , his eating habits needs improvement and he doesn't exercise but stays busy looking after me. I researched all of DH medications: Causes weight gain, bloating and loss of taste but this pcp has told DH that the loss of taste is from Covid. We keep a supply of the Covid test  kits and always negative. The pcp insisted that DH had a mild case of Covid but DH called it something else. Just frustrating.

I really appreciate  your love and concern. My real name is : Pam. ❤️🙏

I'm sorry to hear you're having problems with your iPad case.  Mine does not cover the camera.  Are you sure you have yours on correctly?  There should be openings for the camera lens and all volume/on/off buttons, etc.

I have an Antbox case.  I do have to make sure the top flap (that covers the iPad screen) isn't flipped to the back when I want to take a photo because that does cover the camera lens.  (If that makes sense.☺️)  That can make it a little awkward taking pictures because the front cover is hanging down.  It's not like my phone case that only covers the back of the phone.  My iPad case covers the back and front (screen) of the iPad.  So when I'm just normally typing or viewing on the iPad I usually flip the front screen cover flap onto the back, which does cover the camera lens.

I'm sure none of that made any sense at all.😄

If you have a cover that goes over the screen, you're going to have to make sure that doesn't cover the back camera lens when taking a photo.  If your case only covers the back of the tablet, it's probably on incorrectly.

@SouthernBee

It's frustrating to deal with doctors now.  And especially frustrating to deal with husbands and doctors!😉  I would go into the exam room with  my husband and he would insist the doctor had said something completely different than what I heard.🤨

Then being able to see what the doctor actually wrote in his notes is another thing nowadays.  Years ago we never knew what the doctor wrote.  Now we can see that he/she may have interpreted the visit completely differently than we did.  Or just plain got it wrong.

As for losing our sense of taste, that can be a long term effect of Covid.  But it can also be something we get as we age.  Things don't taste the same so we eat more to try to achieve the same satisfaction as previously.  Vicious cycle.

Honestly, the older I get the more I just do the best I can according to what I know about myself.  And I also have resigned myself to the fact that the doctor may want me to be "perfect" according to his standards, but almost none of us are.

Hang in there and don't let 'em get you down! 💪

@cowboy sam :  I wanted to respond to your post last night but DH was ready to watch a movie.

The test results were in my patient portal the next day. But details on the vitamin deficiency wasn't listed. My pcp blood work in September indicated that the vitamin deficiency was still below normal. The reasons that I was referred to this older doctor was for him to help me with : the vitamin deficiency, treatment  for osteoporosis and possibly weight loss.

Results for the blood work indicated my oxygen level was very low, and bone problems. Still waiting for appointment with another endocrinologist.

Hoping that your problems with AT&T will soon be resolved. I know that has been frustrating.

I have been busy making my sweeet potato casserole to put in the freezer for Thanksgiving and Christmas.  I will make the topping when ready to bake. I have been doing the topping with chopped pecans and brown sugar but DH requested the miniature marshmallows for this year. I cleaned and cut 2 more bunches of collards to put in the freezer for New Year's Day. I am worn out and hurting but relieved some things are finished.

Have a Blessed week.🙏❤️
