Oh, I'm so sorry about the  health news of your great-grand son ... my goodness, I haven't heard of anyone gettting that disease in eons, and never anyone so young!    Here's hoping for a good outcome for him.  Also my best wishes for your son and DIL.

Well, as luck would have it, we are both well and have started our vacation.  We are so thankful.

So very sorry to hear about Sam's little grandson being so ill.

Sure hope the tyke gets well soon!  And her DIL's troubles after hip surgery!  That poor girl!  And Bee's illnesses in her house!  
I pray for healing!  A dear friend of mine, across so many miles now, just had hip replacement surgery and is doing well.

She had been in terrible pain before.

It is so scary, all these illnesses around.  After last winter, I am going to be a complete hermit when the cold weather hits.

I have my face masks bought from Amazon, too.  I plan to get a flu shot, as well as a COVID one.  This past winter I was as sick as a doggie with COVID and then bronchitis.  then GI tract all messed up due to antibiotics, even though taking a probiotic.  I do not want a repeat.

Trying to lose some weight and have adjusted my diet.  My DH 

is a good weight now, after taking a year to lose 30 pounds.  I

am too heavy, but realize progress will be slow.  My DD and her DH have lost weight and are doing good.  I am happy for them.

We are so grateful to have a break from so much stress.  I have always been a news junkie, but cannot take it anymore.

I am trying to read more, watch funny reruns on tv, concentrate on spiritual life.  Wishing for good health, happiness, and some peace for all you fine people - just the bestest!  Wish I could give you all a big hug!  Winston is now at the kitty hotel, and they send pics to us.  They seem to really enjoy his outgoing personality!  He is a character and keeps us laughing.

Our GC are our real joy and have grown so fast.  They are good kids, and we are grateful for that.  So much temptation out there nowadays.

Ya,know the more i fret about losing some weight  the harder it is....so i just try to ask myself  am i really that hungry to eat more...or not buy a food item?

I am not preaching  at all  as it takes me forever just to lose 1 pound!!! It took me about 6 months to lose 4...even though i was walking more  and eating less pop tarts or something else!

 Another reason  is my darn hypo thyroid messes me up!

As for tv  other than watching General Hospital  i really don't enjoy all the tv shows offered...so watch judge shows orhouse hunters  and even watch football again...even though they deserved to lose to the Bears...lol

Daughter has been on meds for sinus infection for 5 days  and still not feeling better  and is back at dr. office now!

When she is done she will come to my town  as she lives 12 miles from me and will take me to see  her eye doctor for eye exam  as its been 3 years since last checked  and she made a appointment    to see me, so going to a new place,  and doctor to day.

And of course eat out!

Hi Y'all : Praying 🙏 that everyone is well and staying cool. 
I was seen by pcp nurse practitioner for my cold. Chest X-ray no pneumonia. Put on high dose antibiotics. Told to stay in and drink fluids. She went ahead and discussed my test results from June. My vitamin deficiency is still below normal and concern about my dexa scan bone density results. I have appointment on 9/29/25 with new endocrinologist for help with the vitamin deficiency, osteoporosis and weight loss. This will be interesting and praying 🙏 that I will receive the help that I need. So tired of being tired and no energy.

DH also on high dose of antibiotics 

Some soap operas for me never change. Daughter previously giving all kinds of excuses for her and 18 year old not being able to work. She is 40 years old with some health issues. She got pregnant and finally got married. The baby girl was born two weeks ago and 3 weeks premature with issues. We sent baby crib , clothes etc. But DH is refusing to send money. They needed help with the baby formula that is $50 for a can. DH sent 2 and told them to apply for Wic or whatever the government program is called. Told her that we are dealing with a lot of extra expenses including medical and both are sick.

The granddaughter finally gained 2 pounds. At birth weight was 6 pounds. Before all this : they asked for $1100, because grandson's elderly cat was having heart problems and kidney problems and needed surgery and we said no. It's very difficult for me to believe daughter and everything she says or ask for. So relieved that DH can finally say : "No". But I really feel for DH having to deal with this drama. I am praying for the precious baby that she will not have a lot of medical issues and complications.

My friend from Alabama: I finally convinced her- for us to stop exchanging any gifts . Originally it was just the two of us but she was including kids with their spouse and granddaughter. For birthday  and Christmas  gifts.So my gift giving list includes DH, brother and sister in law and the church friend that we invite every Christmas. I am so thankful and relieved.Rant over and praying that the soap opera will stop.

Hi @cowboy sam : Praying that you and your family are doing well. 
I am still having problems siging on. Then trying to post: I type a few words and it goes to auto save with the font size reduced to the smallest. Then it's necessary to reenter everything. This is beyond frustrating. Considering it takes me forever to type anything because I am correcting all my errors due to not being able to see.

DH and I have finished our antibiotics but still dealing with this stuff: coughing etc. We are sleeping later because we are trying to rest. We are drinking a lot of fluids and eating a lot of soup. Wednesday, I made another pot of vegetable beef soup and and made a big pot of homemade chicken noodle soup. I used the boneless and skinless chicken tenders. They were cheaper than the chicken breast and cooked much quicker.

Took me almost all day yesterday trying to place delivery orders for what we needed. I had to order from Walmart, Publix and Sam's Club.

I am tired of being tired and vision issues. I was already slow doing things but this has made doing things really difficult. Okay: rant over.

Sorry to hear you've been having so many problems.  I bet you are counting the days until you can get your cataract surgery.  Hopefully things will get easier for you after that.  Hang in there!  I know the feeling of being sick and tired of feeling sick and tired! 😞  

This place is just so hard to get into now that I rarely even try anymore.

Yes, I'm afraid I have the same problem, like most other people do.

I can do a search for this thread and get to it quickly, but as soon as I read it and try to reply, it takes several minutes for the reply to post.

It's so difficult to get into Community Chat and do anything that I've quit even trying to access it.  So I'm not on this thread much at all anymore.
