@cowboy sam : Thanks. Will be praying for good results for your son. Plus praying for his wife.

My cancer medication kept me nausea all the time but when they added steroids that made me hungry with strange food cravings. I tried to eat healthy and lots of food with fiber to keep me full but didn't help. The chocolate cravings were horrible and like I wanted nothing but chocolate. I tried to stay busy but thoughts of food were overwhelming.❤❤ what?!!! My hearts are now black instead of red.😯😯🙄🙄🙄🤗🤗🤗🙏🙏🙏🙏

@cowboy sam : I forgot to mention in my post that DH had replaced my bottle and told him the smaller bottle fit better in the cart and easier for me to use.

Text message today that the 10 ounce bottle has been shipped.

You have a huge Blue Spruce tree?🌲  I love those!  I think that's my favorite tree. I'll bet it's gorgeous all lit up at night.🎄My parents had a couple of smaller ones when they moved "up north" after my father retired.  I've never lived anywhere where they would grow.🙁

@SouthernBee

I have terrible chocolate cravings too--and I've never been on cancer medication! 😋😆

@geezerette

Oh, you would love to see all the stuff that grows up north!

All kinds of stuff, and we also have some huge trees in our yard - oak trees - with an army of squirrels.  We are a land of trees up here, and folks just love 'em.  Of course, there are our bears, sometime a foxy-loxie, maybe a bobcat, both rarely.  And we live in the burbs, but a "woodsey one."

Our neighborhood now is full of old people, like us. But a new family moved in close to us, a young couple with a cutie little boy.  well, any day now, he is going to get a little brother!  High excitement!  I am collecting my presents - a few outfits for Baby, gift basket of lotions and potions for Mommy, and present for big brother.  Want to get more stuff for Baby!  I love giving presents!

i'm stubborn - hardheaded - snarky - i find those features to be treasured

i'm taurus the bull - have to have a thick skin - dont take BS - want to be positive

do what makes me happy - wont do it bc it is trendy or the norm

we were not well off - i always had home made clothing or hand me downs

i stood out and not in a good way - needed a thick skin - i was not cool

so no - i will never buy used - vintage or not

if the british monarchy wants to gift me some jewelry - only exception

i was in advertising and i was the only female doing what i did at that time in that firm

when i was a trainee doing what i wanted - many men coworkeers came up to me

saying they used to do that - and they didnt care for it

BS - u couldnt hack it - i worked hard - but there were things that were out of my control - i worked there for 18 years - eventually being escorted out of the building

there was bad stuff going on - i cried

i never cried again for any job i was let go from

when there were mass firings - coworkers would cry and asked why i wasnt upset

i was all cried out that other time - my dream job - these firings were nothing

i had to go from job to job - most of them being freelance

never complained - never ranted - what was the point

i only want to be around positivity - bad things happen

it is how you deal with it

i was main caretaker of my parents and i had 2 siblings and we will leave it at that

they live less than 15 minute walk

my mom was diagnosed with bladder cancer and passed under a year

she never once complained or ranted through all the treatments

now it is my turn - i basically am renovating everything

this is my family home - it was old - some areas were done decades ago

it started with only - yes i would like a new kitchen and bathroom and it grew

my visions became more grand - i search and search until - YES!!!!! i lubs this

this started in feb 14 ❤️ 2024 and i am in the home stretch

everything i chose was bc i lubs it - no one to answer to

i went to see a gum specialist today - her first opening since reg dental visit

will be having gum surgery in late jan - earliest appt after the holiday

i wont be complaining - it is an inconveniece - not a tragedy as was my implant

i am going to paris with my older niece (she celebrates her BD in paris most years)

we are meeting 2 of her close neighbors there - we wont be spending all our time together - but some meals and site seeing

i hope to find something for my kitchen there

i am partial to blues - you try googling pendant lights and see what colors they come in

my blue pendants are not the norm - probably disgust most

bc no show ever on HGTV showed lights in blue

here are some random bowls - i have either 1 of or 2 of these

they were made in japan - i dont want anything made in china if i can avoid

i do need plates since i still cant find my 4

i dont want a whole set - i want random pieces - will buy in twos

Screenshot 2024-11-20 at 6.02.21 PM.png

do you like my new nail polish - bought it for paris

my plates will NOT be blue -  i didnt intend to buy blue bowls only -

too much blue lol

Love your blue nail polish!  For your trip to Paris.  Well, Paris is always a good idea.  A magical place.  You will fall in love.

Been once, want to go back before I die.

I understand you more than you would ever know.  I grew up, the oldest child, in a family that had to struggle.  I never fit in.

Glad I did not.  I still do not care if I "fit in."  Made me a stronger person.  Could not go to college, had to go to work.

Much later, as a married mother of two young kids, I started and finished a four year degree.  Yup, and a 4.0 solid average.

My DH always had to work hard, the child of an immigrant family.  Worked his way thru 4 years of college, then a fellowship to grad school.  We have made a pair - different personalities - but no strangers to sacrifice and hard work.

If someone outside looked at me - I might appear like I had been a princess - nice big house, etc etc etc in an affluent suburb.  Nope, I remain different.  No one will ever shove me

around, and I always root for the underdog.  At the end of my life, nobody cares about earthly things.  I do try to help others.

Always have, always will.

I do understand that struggles usually produce strong people, and people who are grounded.  I wish you a fabulous trip!

Enjoy getting some things that you can touch and remember.

I am trying to get into shape to go to Italy - sure hope it happens.  And please try to get to a high place, a church I cannot remember the name on a hill - where you view the night of Paris lights,  You will never forget!

Sending you a hug and my best wishes!

Pam

you must mean

this is my 3rd viisit - i went on a solo trip in my late 30s - before anything really electronic

booked all my hotels - used frequent flyers miles for some of my journeys

i dont know if everyone had email bc i was faxing hotels bc calling intl was uber expensive and i was doing this during work hrs and dont have intl calling in the office - you had to get patched trhough and it would show up in ur monthly bil

my friend was living in london for a year that her company sent

she arrived a couple of  months and didnt really do much of anything

didnt like doing stuff solo - so she was my home base

arrived in london - took train to paris - then train to brugge - then train back to london

friend met me on weekends - she visited paris

flew to amsterdam, - she met me there and flew back to london

then back home - i spent 3 weeks doing and eating what i wanted for the most part

that was the longest i ever traveled

i walked most everywhere - my feet were swollen and hurting each night

but i did the same day after day - didnt want to be underground in the metro

it is 1 of my favorite trips in my life - i thought i would travel more but i really didnt

when i turned 50 - a friend never visited europe and we decided to go on a tour

10 thousand countries in 5 days - u know what i mean

the stop in paris was 2 or 3 days - i knew i needed to see Rodin's home/museum again - friend wasnt intererested in churches or museums - but she went to Rodin bc i went - either with or without her during 1 of our free afternoons

i visited the Eiffel Tower again - i didnt even care for it the first time

that's why my solo trip was magic - i got a museum pass and saw Orsay - fav and many others - climbed Notre Dame tower to hang with the gargoyles

it is hard to travel when others are not of same mind

this trip - i already made my intentions known to my niece

i'm going back to Orsay - Rodin - Notre Dame is being reopened when we are there but doubt we can get in - i wanted to climb and hang with my gargoyle friends again

my niece is interested in food and high end shopping

she is most excited to go into hard to get into bistros - me... not so much

she already has reservations to some of the hot spots

she asked - you are not going to ditch me, are you? lol

i said - when you shop - i can go to a museum or a church

her 2 friends - want to do some site seeing - so i may join them

i'm not afraid of hitting the pavement solo - of course this year i have not done any research - whereas the first time - i made copies from pages of guide books and highlighted areas - and maps and what bus or train to take

i'm very organized - with the foreign money to the many countries

but so much is going on in my life - that i will wing it this time

i was the ugly american -

walking shoes - backpack - eating while i'm walking - until i buy more food to put into backpack - bc i didnt want to miss out - bc that looked YUM

others dine... i nosh and walked - no one ate while walking

it was usually bread or pastry - i was not eating a full blown out meal walking

i hope you will get to go to italy soon

my frist trip to europe was with my knitting friend on a tour

tours back then were great - good food provided - lots of excursions included

i spent 12 days italy - i loved it there

italy was 1 of the stops during my 1000 countries the 2nd time

i cant really say what i did - there was a gondola ride

nakkid david - and the vatican - it was all a blur

italy is magic - the people are so nice and food is chef's kiss

you will LUBS LUBS LUBS it there ❤️

Thanks for the info, sweetie pie!  Boy, you have seen so much!

We have been on other trips, to other places, but somehow missed Italy.  I think that when my back issues kicked in, been dealing with on and off.  Our first trip was so many years beck, was to Spain and Portugal.  Zeez, was a lifetime ago!

We have been blessed, and have loved the places - and people - everywhere.

You are indeed a seasoned traveler!!!  I know you will have a glorious trip.  Meanwhile, for many years, we have gone to Cape Cod.  Went there as a kid with our family, brought our kids there for many years, and now we are lucky to be able to rent a so pretty little house in Eastham, only through contacts with my brother.  It is in a wooded area, so peaceful.

The only way you and I are not alike - I love old things.  Antiques of all kinds, and I took Early American painting lessons forever.  funny thing, my younger brother, retired for several years now, is taking painting lessons a couple times a week.  Maybe in the genes?

A pleasure to meet you and see all we have in common.

The people are are the best!  All lovely, kind, and caring people. What an honor to be part of this place.

All my best,

Pam

kind.and caring people
