I know what a tough day it is on the anniversary of losing your loving Mom.  You lost her so young, and she was taken before her time.  Just try to remember she is in heaven watching over you.  I had my Mom so many more years than you had yours, and I still miss her so very much.

@PamfromCT , I'm also ready to stop posting. I can't believe some of the posts on the "flooding in North Carolina" thread. There's already so much hate in this world you would think people could agree on something as serious as this without arguing. It makes me so sad 😞.

same here..i posted about yesterday  on another place here in the community..and 2 wanted to make it about politics....how sad  indeed!SMH!

Then someone asked gently  "please no politics talk"  i didn't reply to her but i agree with her!

but 

I changed my reply to one person  and deleted about what state i live in !

I only stated that i made a mistake, got it corrected  and i voted.

I saw that and wondered how you would feel about the reply and question to you.  I'm glad you changed your post because I knew you didn't at all mean what she was inferring.  That thread has never taken that direction.

@cowboy sam, @loveschocolate, @PamfromCT , Anymore I rarely post in any but a few threads where I "know" the posters and what the thread is generally about.  The extremes can be demeaning or purposely interjecting their own agenda.  I know people have a "right" to their opinions, but they try to disguise their posts with that excuse.

Unfortunately, as in real life, a lot of people have opted out here for the same reasons and it makes it a less interesting place to come.  It's a shame because I've "met" a lot of very nice people and learned a lot of things here over the years.

Hi All!

Just thought I would post that the current death toll of the storm is 150 so far, and some 1,000 military will be participating in the cleanup of the storm.

I guess I greatly overestimated many people on the main thread, and was surprised how nasty it became.  So many hearted the posters, yes.  But at least we have us here and I have a friend on the main thread I communicate with.

There was something over there that disturbed me greatly a few weeks ago.  Ome person who was targeted because she posted a few pictures (gasp! The horror of it all!), and she was so hurtfully treated.  The premise - one can be tracked down thru a picture.  So say it and let someone decide whether they want to post or not.  No, it was disgusting, and I tried standing up for her.  To prove a point, one person ("Mr Winkie"), a real loser, tracked down where she was when she posted her pics and announced it to all.  Yes, where she was when she posted some pics, including her mother.  What a prince!  I thought I would be sick.  And so many participated.
