No one was home today when I got done from work.  I snuck off to watch The Crown and fell asleep for a little while.  LOL

I started making my shopping list for Thanksgiving.  One productive thing done.  LOL

@Mj12

I was working outside of Manhattan and a coworker drove me to he mom's home - we then waited for her brother and then eveyone and i mean everyone climbed into an older car that had bench seats that can fit 6 or 7 (squeezed)  they all piled in to drive me home - i guess it was an adventure - it was SO HOT

my brother and friends went on their annual camping trip - i missed it since i just started this job -  - they had the food in coolers and tried not to open them too much bc of ice metling -  they were fine

She bought 2 more boxes of lights..300 in each box of 2 strands...=600 more lights on total Smiley Very Happy

I wanted to pay her for both boxes but she told me no!

So as soon as its dark we will go out and look at my tree....she gets a view  of the tree from her window acoss the street.

Ps

Wow, she sure is great.  Not only does she help you with your lights, but she buys more for you too!  Good to hear you only needed a short ladder today.  I hope you're not too sore now.

Are there any houses for sale in your neighborhood?  I need a couple of neighbors like you two.  I can't imagine any of mine doing anything like that for me.

I'll bet your tree is beautiful!😍🎄

@geezerette : We live in a quiet neighborhood. People are friendly and normally wave whenever outside. But one neighbor is like 79 but willing to help everybody. He helped DH when a tree fell on our back yard fence from the back vacant lot. He has a riding lawnmower and keeps the yards for a widow lady and another handicapped lady and refuses any money. It's time for me to surprise him with some brownies. The guy across the street and next door will bring our trash can back up the driveway. We really appreciate the help.

@Yahooey I love the Intrepid! Do you remember the crazy blackout of 2003? I was walking from midtown to the ferry to try to get home. Nothing was open, no stores could check anyone out. I was dying of thirst walking all around New Yawk. I walked up to the Intrepid and asked if I could buy a bottle of water from the guard. 🤣. He gave me 2 bottles of water. I made it home 1am. Crazy day.

@Mj12 : Wow: That was scary but relieved you were ok and the guard gave you water.

Wow - you and your neighbor are amazing.  Y'all were determined to get those lights on.

Today was so warm, but that's the end of it.  It's going to be in the 30s and 40s.  Smiley Sad

I'm sure you're sore.  Try to get some rest

Lubs ya Heart

@Bri369 : We had the air on yesterday. But Saturday and Sunday morning will be in the 30's. I will be making a big pot of soup and making grilled cheese sandwiches.

@Yahooey : Tired last night and a sleep by 10 and awake at 5. Yesterday tried to make my dressing for Thanksgiving and Christmas to put in the freezer. Only managed to cook the hen and debone it and drain the broth. Then baked the cornbread before giving out but managed to clean the kitchen. Hopefully today will chop all the onions, crumble the corn bread and get the dressing made and in the freezer. Then need to order a few groceries.
