Good afternoon Preds and Preds very special friends: Carpet and tile shopping= frustrating and confusing. Doing research on line and friends experience =Preferred a Flooring store instead of Home Depot and others. Prefer nylon instead of polyester. Tiles recommended the new vinyl plank instead of traditional or ceramic. My special needs were low pile, durable  with stain resistant and good warranty and any tile to be textured or less slippery. Two trips to flooring store: stressed all of the above. Returned home with a carpet sample and tile sample . Thinking ready to decide.

Research on line = The Mohawk carpet called Smart Strand is a new polyester that blends the polyester and nylon. Reviews read so far: People either love or hate this.

The vinyl plank tile is from a company called Happy Feet. Tile brand is Santa Fe and color = Desert (Beige). Tile is Easy luxury ridge core. Can't really find any reviews. Thinking about calling my carpet cleaning service to see what they have experienced with this carpet brand. A few years ago they told me not to purchase olefin carpet. The carpet store indicated that their best carpet installer will not be available until the end of October. Price given after I schedule appointment for them to come out and measure. Forgot to get info on the padding😳🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️.

I like both carpet color and tile  "but "i can understand about your wanting to get more information.  So would i.

If" you are getting overwelmed trying to decide...stop and clear your mind..you don't need to decide today or tomorrow!

I got a phone call from my friend this morning to go to Wally and ice cream afterwards.

At the resturant she decided on,

Well i had a piece of coconut creme pie and ice cream on the side... the pie..on scale of 1-10...a 2 , ice cream-10

she- had peach pie ala-mode her rating also low score

her hubby had a sundae..no rating  as he did'nt say anything!

We will cross off that resturant off list to go for desserts.

@cowboy sam : Thank you. Still concerned about COVID. Carpet really bad especially hallway. Not sure what to call it but the carpet is so worn it has big wrinkles or ridge spots down the hall and concerned about tripping or falling. Carpet over 18 years old and don't want to spend money to have it stretched or cleaned. The last time it was professional cleaned before COVID it didn't look better but smelled better and guy stated that it was time to replace. He tried to remove several stains but still showed when carpet cleaned.🤗❤️

I am also very concered also about covid  as i'm 81 years old,  have low Vitamin D..so,i avoid large crowds,etc  plus wear my mask also.

Wally  wasn't busy today and wasn't near hardly anyone...same for resturant!  Resturant closed at 3om and we got there at 2:30  and left at 3pm.

Understand why you want/need new carpet  ,etc.

@cowboy sam : Thank you. So many people today were not wearing mask or trying to social distance. We ate at Arby's and besides me the only other people with mask was the workers.🤷‍♀️🤗❤️

Mohawk is a good brand.  As long as there is a guarantee, you should be okay.  Schedule them to come out and measure and see what their quote is.  I'm sure they use precautions - wearing a mask, social distancing.
