Good afternoon Preds and friends. I want to thank you all. He seems to have turned the corner. His fever has broke. 

I haven't accomplished anything this weekend. Had all these great plans....clean, cook, pack, pack some more. Haven't done a thing! I'm thinking of going to get some wine 🍷 and call it a day! 😆

We are in DIY mode this long weekend. Ripping off and rebuilding our deck (which is big).  Won't be done for several more weeks. 

Did I hear wine? 🍷 I'm in!

@Bri369 ....I have stronger words to describe her...lol

I saw your post about your shrimp and tomatoes sheet pan meal...my kind of eating...So I googled for sheet pan recipes and came across so many great and healthy recipes...I love cooking everything together and also use my slow cooker for some of our special dishes that we enjoy.

I hope your daughter finds her tiny gold heart charm...It sounds like a very special memento that is very symbolic to her and it can be upsetting when we lose these meaningful mementos.

@loveschocolate ...Sending a prayer for your brother's full recovery from Covid and relieved to read that he is doing better...Was he able to trace back to where he may have been exposed?

@Mj12 ...Wow, that's quite a large DIY project that you and your husband have going on...Will you be putting in another wood deck?...I'm asking because Trex has become quite a popular alternative.

@Yahooey @cowboy sam ...My thoughts are with you both and I am so happy to see you posting...Yahooey, I'm relieved that you got through Ida okay...The City took quite a beating as well as so many other areas.

@PamfromCT ...How sweet that your precious Winston is staying at a luxury kitty hotel while you and your husband are enjoying some vacation time...I've heard of them and they look very nice from what I have seen online...We have a pet sitter that takes loving care of Shadow whenever we have gone away so she can still be in the comfort of her home...However, Shadow still lets it be known to us that she is never happy with this "going away"  stuff that we "hoomans" insist on doing...lol...I'm sure Winston feels the same way.

@SouthernBee ...Your coffee nook is adorable...Where are the doughnuts?...lol...Would you believe that my husband and I are not big coffee drinkers...my husband enjoys occasionally, but I don't handle caffeine very well so, when I do have a cup, it's the Decaf...I know, I know...that's not real coffee...lol

Hello Lovelies,

As requested, here are a few pics of Winston in his room at the kitty hotel and spa.  The theme of his room is Space Galaxy and is named “Galacticat.”  

We have heard that Winston is adapting well and friendlier now.  Been told that “first-time guests” do take a bit longer to adjust to the hotel.  Our children live too far away to prevail on them to come over to the house to take care of him.  And we were very reluctant to hire someone we did not know to take care of him.  He would have had to be in a cage at our vets.  Winston also gets play time with staff, as well as the chance to walk around outside his room from time to time.

We adopted Winston about a year and a half ago from a local shelter.  He was found wandering city streets.  From humble beginnings?  He is such a friendly, sweet fellow.
