@dex, Thank you for asking about my DD.  So far, so good.  But we are concerned.  Her infection did not require hospitalization, so we are thinking very positive, for our sanity.

Some younger folks have very long-term effects, as you know, like chronic fatigue.  I do wish the media/press would report on that more.  She was advised not to assume she would be immune to another infection, and I think that is wise.

And yes, all this so hard on kids.  Our GC are active kiddos, not a normal life.  No activities like fun lessons, etc.  They have always stayed with us for a long visit in the summer, going to a local day camp.  No go now.  We miss them like crazy.  My DH is 79, I will be 76.  They are 12 and 7.

Wishing you all the best and continued good health.  Same for everyone here.  I have two close friends in very hard hit states.  They are worried.  I am worried.

@PamfromCT  I think that's the scariest thing - worrying if she can get it again.

@Bri369 @PamfromCT

that's the thing that is so frustrating

you can get it - test negative in a few weeks

and then get it again

get it

and then not get the antibodies

they dont even know if the antibodies will help in a few months

so much unknown

I'm going to get tested next week

there is a hosptial that you can walk into - no appt necessary

opens at 8am and u know i can get up early

there are 2 test avail in my city

the swab to see if you are currently sick

or a blodd test to see if have antibodies

I don't think I ever got it but only for a few weeks back in Feb where I had a cough that wouldn't go away- i know coughs tend to linger

I felt strong - went swimming to get rid of whatever ails me

i'm going for the blood test since I believe I'm not sick right now

@Yahooey

I have an appt tomorrow for the antibody test.  I was so sick at the end of February/end of March   @mtc was sick too.

I'm not sure if I had it.  I tested negative for the flu, so that why I want the antibody test.  I'm just really curious if that's what it was.  Whether I had it or not doesn't really matter.  It sounds like you can get it again.

I don't go anywhere without a mask on.  Even though we are in Phase 4 now, I barely go anywhere.

I need to run a few errands today.  The humidity is out of control.  I think I shall wear a mask on my head today.

@Bri369 , I literally snorted my beverage through my nose about wearing a mask on your head . . . as you said oh lawdy I am a mess!  Smiley LOL

I just waddled to what I call the downstairs pantry (aka trunk of my car) as I am hoarding/stocking non-perishables as I don't see this getting better for a while and I don't want to be flying around wearing a suit of armor to get some TP:

Cardboard suit of armor - complete with sword, shield and helmet ...

I am concerned that there are still issues with the efficacy of the tests being administrated along with the costs being covered by insurance companies.  I am also concerned that the positivity rates are rapidly climbing for those under 35.  I so agree with @cowboy sam  and @dex , I will just never understand why folks won't wear a mask.  I usually leave a clean one on my purse so I am ready to go if I step out and forgot to replace it earlier this week.  I was halfway down my hallway when I realized it but decided to keep going but I completely de-loused myself when I got back into my condo.

Sigh.  Dunno.

Ugh @cowboy sam , this is what I mean.  She probably thinks that you (like me) have a small social footprint so you are "fine" and masks aren't needed.  Well maybe not you but what about her?  I mean my social footprint is very tiny but something happened to me so how does anyone know what's going on unless you have had a current, consistent test?

Double ugh.

But I am glad your furbaby is better . . . Heart

Snort, it's where it always is . . . plopped on top of my head in a messy top knot (that's why I want to take a look at those pins to see if they can secure it a bit better).
