@Preds   I always smile whenever I see that you have posted something - anything - because I know I'll either laugh (a lot) and/or learn something.  I love your fierce optimism. You never, I mean never make anything about you (though you should!). You are always 110% focused on others and asking how we are doing with something or other.  You have made everyone you post with feel at home.

I hope you know how much we love you and we hope you can feel all the  love for you. Like the very first post in this thread said to you - thank you for sharing YOU with us. We are all so much better for having known you. 

So happy you are with your dear DH, DD and DIL.  I know you are surrounded by love there in your home, and you are surrounded by love here too.

 I've been away from this thread for awhile now ... for a lot of reasons I won't go

into .. none of which has anything to do with my love and admiration of our beloved host.

My heart is now completely broken.   My sister died ten days ago, my sister-in-law, who is in a nursing home, has tested positive for covid-19; and now one of my favorite people on the planet, virtual or real,  is in hospice. 

Preds was one of the first posters I met way, way back in the day.  Our love of sports and Star Trek blossomed into a real friendship ... she never once left my side when I clashed with other posters on the famous Viewpoints forum and here over racial and political tensions, even though my specific views may not have been hers.  In today's parlance -- she had my back.

She listened to me wax and wane, ad nauseam, over my two favorite artists ... Nat King Cole and Ella Fitzgerald ... I think I made her a fan, too.  I remember once playing a Willie Nelson song that made her so sad, I was so sorry I'd posted it that morning.  

And BACON ... oh my, we loved our bacon!  What pics we put up ... all of us!  I remember Nora Efrem once stating in an interview about her terminal illness ... what would she miss most.   She replied (and I'm paraphrasing here)  "I wish I'd eaten more bacon!"   Well, here on this thread we eat the bacon ... so no regrets there.
