@geezerette : Thank you. I appreciate this information. My friend in Tennessee said they prefer the Air. This is a big decision for me considering everything else. Let me do more research.

I will say that the salesman said the regular iPad (not Air model) would be fine for my needs--Internet use, no gaming, etc.) but he also said that the Air is a little better quality.  I guess the chip is better, etc.  Most people in my situation would just opt for the regular model and replace in a few years, but I hate to replace my devices so much I'd rather pay more now and hopefully get a longer life out of them.

@geezerette : Totally understand and agree just looking at the total price with new case and longer charging cord . So probably what I am looking at is the basic model. Currently no  charge expenses but recliner, ipad, copay for eye surgery, and eventually copay for wheelchair, yikes.

Yes, I understand completely.  So many expenses nowadays.  And all at once!

@geezerette : I just went on line with Apple because if I read correctly their charge card has "0" interest. Big mess with my previous account and password. They are working on this and not already having apple devise had to confirm and verify current email and give them 24 hours.

@geezerette : Big mess with the Amazon fire tablet. I found two other YouTube videos on how to force load on tablet the Google play store app. I wrote everything down and checked off each step while working and couldn't proceed. Another YouTube video : guy indicated probably will not work on latest fire tablets. He " heard" Amazon trying to stop all this and force people to use their app store which is useless for adults and their shopping or app needs.

I called Amazon Customer service back: with list of apps that I needed and used. Stated not allowed on new Amazon tablets. I requested code to return to Kohl's Amazon Returns. Stated can't use this to return the tablet. They sent email with return label to be printed for UPS drop off.🙄😯😯 I will factory reset tablet and package for UPS return.

No email yet from Apple.

My old fire tablet keeping it on charge. Praying to keep it going until I can purchase something else.

Oh dear, that sounds like Amazon is forcing people to only go through them on their tablets now.  So you won't really be able to use it as an all around tablet anymore.

That doesn't really make much sense to me since it seems like once people realize this the sales will drop off from people going to brands that they can use for more things.  Unless they intend to come out with another tablet of some kind.

It's just disappointing and frustrating for you right now.  At least you found that out so now you can stop trying to deal with a Fire tablet.  I hope you hear from Apple soon.

Fingers crossed for you that your current tablet will continue to work.🤞

@geezerette : Totally agree and understand. Amazon must have something else in the process because the current tablet would be for people to search Internet and emails.

I have photos on my tablet of deceased family and friends that desperately need to keep. All of this is frustrating.

I am thinking about calling Apple later today.

@geezerette : Apple will call me on Sunday @ 1:36 p.m.

Best Buy has your mentioned  iPad $50 cheaper than Apple.

I found a new charger for the fire tablet: not draining as fast but at 79%.

I was trying to deleted photos not needed and page would return to home page. So assuming still problems with tablet. Trying to determine how to keep the family photos . Don't have a good printer to make copies. Decisions.🙄😯😯😯
