there are 30 guests - some are couples

each guest or couple must bring 4 dozen cookies of 1 type

that is why there aren't 30 cookie varieties

each cookie was revealed to her so there are NO repeats

i guess some couples bring 2 varieties

other thing u must bring is a bottle or 2 of wine

u must bring ur own containers if u want leftover lasagna or salad

she was cleaned out from the PRE thanksgiving - regulars brought their own containers

she provides pretty boxes for cookies to take home

my niece is making the pecan shortbread sandwich w/carmel filling (her signature)

my nephew (her brother) is making the macarons - the fancy colored ones (his signature) -

me is the florentienes - i guess sandwich cookies are in our blood lol

not my fav - but many people told me give me extras of those and omit others

gosh - most of te cookies have butter or shortbread (code for buttah) in the title

how many sticks of butter were used? too skeery to know....

@Yahooey : Considering the price of butter= Gold in the cookies.Plus the cost of eggs. Yesterday had to order more sugar, eggs , butter and the 2 ounce bottle of vanilla was $8.

@SouthernBee ai dink u would be an excellant taster and calories dont count bc u are doing a JOB and NOT eating them for pleasure

@MyShadowLove i stil have the tilt head mixer - some doughs struggle bc it is not the heavy duty pro lift - but it is fine

dis is what i like - hammered design - here i go again - will it be hard to clean - i dont have a dish washer - still dinking dinking

only time i really needed extra bowl was when i was working

2 in the office were gluten free -

my bff is allergic to walnuts, pecans, macademia except almonds

so when i prep the dough - the guten free variety gets mixed first

the almond infused dough get mixed next

all nuts after

then chocolate bc light doughs first

same order when baking ... so no one gets sick

but before i figured it out - i was washing bc traces of stuff might get someone sick

@SouthernBee

u are absolutely right on the high prices of the raw materials

never mind all the labor

so it is more expensive when i make cookies as opposed to buying them

but i dink mine taste better than most store bought

that includes the bakeries too - i'm talking to u Starbucks (very disappointing)

but then they charge 4.00 per cookie

only time it is worth it is the Levain Bakery @Bri369

i would gladly pay for it - but their cookie weights 1/2 stick of buttah

@Yahooey : Totally agree . I prefer homemade but never tried to bake something like what you do. My cookie baking is very basic. I found a very delicious sugar cookie recipe last year on the Internet and it isn't labor intensive.

@SouthernBee

i posted the recipe under RECIPES if u want to try

u dont need a stand mixer or any mixer -

u mix by hand only

it just takes many steps - mamy simple steps but still steps

@WildFlowers : Totally agree but would appreciate one of each cookie  but consider me to be the quality control tester and because that would be a special job = not counting calories.😀

@SouthernBee ...LOL...That would be 17 cookies that you would have to "quality taste". 😄

Consider the possibility that I would be cured of my intense craving for cookies and no energy to bake any cookies.

Look what happened: you included " a math " answer in your post.🤔🤔🤔🤔

@SouthernBee ...Very clever thinking and @Yahooey

@Bri369 @Mj12  would be so very proud of my solving such a "complex math configuration"! 😂

it was from Anthropologie - i was googling cake stands as i've been looking for a while - then it popped up and the store name appeared - I've seen the store but never bought anything... they do have unusual stuff

at the time - it was sold in 2 sizes and 2 colors

i bought the large and i dont remember the price but it wasnt a lot
