@JeanLouiseFinch A funeral director can help you from the service, casket, flowers, whatever your heart desires. My mother had their grave lots bought, monument set up and wishes were known. It is a relief for your family that they do not have to shoulder the heartbreak and decisions in such a trying time.

I've told my husband if I die first just cremate me and toss my ashes in the ocean. Don't spend any money on a memorial or anything. It's not necessary. I'll be at home with my Lord and that is what matters.

I preplsmned mine and it all taken care of in my Will and Trust. Cremation - they will do the rest. I don't want my ashes spread around. My nephew is my Executor and he knows that he doesn't have to do anything other I have directed which is cremation, period!!

It's the best thing (and $ spent). We had all our arrangements prepaid and updated.
When spouse passed recently the whole process was flawless -- no surprises in fees, arrangements, etc.
Im glad we did it!

My mother had everything set up. Everything went well, and because my brothers and I are close all the stuff later went smooth as silk.
I am going to be doing this. The info I have from a phone call:
Cremation- the policy travels with you if you move
You can make "payments" but that ends up costing extra - but they will pay off the remainder if you pass - this actually did happen to a relative.
I only want a cremation- nothing else- nothing but an obit. I worked hard and I don't want $ going to a funeral home, I want my kids to have something.
I am leaving the "urn" thing up to them- it doesn't matter to me and I don't want to burden them with hauling around an urn if it's not their wish.
Cost here in MN quoted as $3,200.00-
I figure with the $ losing it's value it's a wise decision.
I hope this helps someone.

I'm not really old enough (under 65) nor do I have any health concerns that would prompt me to pre-arrange my funeral, but I will do so in the next few years.
My family is well aware of what I want, and I've documented it for them. Should I meet my demise prior to acutally making/paying for those arrangements, they have a clear roadmap of what to do.

My parents pre-planned and prepaid their funeral expenses as well as purchased cemetery plots and a headstone years ago. When my dad passed away about 7 years ago, It was so easy to meet with our funeral director and just go over a couple of things. I was glad my mom didn't have to think a lot about it or make a lot of decisions then.
