this morning. He is in a long term facility and they will go to his room so we don't have to move him which I am so very grateful for as any change is very upsetting for him. They will do what they can to make him comfortable.

I saw him last night. He was awake which was the first time in 4 days he didn't keep falling asleep. He told me he wanted to go home. Then he said a few times "Yes Lord. Thank you Lord". I asked if was talking to the Lord and he said "Yes. It was wonderful." And then a short time after that he told me to get the cows out of the corner.

He hasn't known me for several years but it will still be hard when he passes. My sisters only saw him 1-2 times a year and only for 15 min or so for many years. They didn't even send him Christmas or B-day cards. (They each only live a few hours away)  I loved getting him a small cake and a balloon for his b-day. He didn't remember minute to minute it was his bday, but loved the attention he got from staff and other residents. I would tie the ballon on the front part of the handle of his wheelchair so he could see it and he would giggle for hours because of it.

Please pray that his passing is peaceful.

I understand your heartbreak. My experience with Hospice was nothing but positive.  They helped my loved one leave this world without pain and suffering.
