@Zhills wrote:@smoochy Well said. This is a huge storm but is predicted to hit the panhandle of Florida.
Once a "storm" gets over the Gulf, they tend to have a mind of their own. MANY have changed paths! Many!
So far, Helene will stay off shore but the storm reaches for miles!
Assuming the bright circle is the "eye" the storm seems to be on the right upper side of the eye. That area is big enough to cover the whole state.
The storm is 300 miles wide and Florida is 150 miles wide! Won't all be hurricane conditions though!
Some will get lots of rain and some high wind gusts!
Your prayers are all welcomed for out safety and minimum property loss! Not just in Florida, in Helene's path!
@Zhills My Son is in Jacksinville. Worried for him.

@Happy2BHere It is a massive storm and the water is very warm. I would not be surprised if it turns to a 4 before hitting land.

@BalletBabe. That's so sweet of you. What's the weather doing there now? It appears HSN has shut down so wondering if it has started?

I am keeping everyone in prayer. My niece is in its path. Her husband is out of town with work in Dallas and she's home with their 3 month old.

HSN is pretty close to the water. I can see why they shut down. It will be worse tomorrow. Don't expect them to be running tomorrow.

@Zhills You are so right!! Hurricane Katrina was supposed to hit the west coast of Florida - so we cancelled our weekend trip to visit son & DIL in Tampa. 24 hours later that sucker had changed course and was headed straight at us in NOLA. And we all know how that went.
