About 11:30ish everything went off. Our portable phones don't work without juice and we don't get cell service at the house.
How to report an outage? Well, you get dressed, get in the car and drive until you find a high spot where your cell will work and report it.
Back on but at least it is a nice day for a drive. There are branches down all over so I assume one was the culprit.

Do you really need to report an outage? I always assumed they knew.

@CrazyKittyLvr2 @Good to own for storms. An AT & T corded phone. It costs around $12. Will not work if your wireless phones are internet phones that only work with an internet signal.. The corded phone only works for POTS (plain old land line) phone set up.

@Peaches McPhee Where I live you do. There is a number on the website to call to report an outage.

@Peaches McPhee We have always reported outages. I've learned over the years here, never assume.

We're in a neighborhood and I believe if that's the case you don't need to report an outage. If you're on some property without many neighbors I would report. My husband insists we must report it everytime ours goes out and I I know they know. The computer system tells them when there's an outage.

My power went out just the other night. I don't know when it went out because I was sound asleep. But, I woke up feeling cold. Looked at the clock to see the time and realized everything was dark. At that time, it was 1:15 AM (I looked at my watch.). Called to report the outage, but the recording said they were aware and anticipated restoration by 4AM. As it turned out, it came back on at 2:AM. I have no idea of the cause. I do know I was mildly annoyed, since I had to change the clocks, and will have to do so again Saturday night. Fortunately, the "spring forward: adjustments are much easier than the "fall back".

Call your electiric co and ask for Overhead Lines. Tell them to put up a squirrel guard on the transformer serving your crib. The local squirrels will be happy, too!![]()

I always have enough battery power in my laptop to check the power outage map.....Usually the reason they give is "cause unknown"
