It's so important to be as vigilant as possible against these scammers. They will try any tactic to steal your money.

I feel sorry for people that aren't savvy enough to know that the email is a scam.

I sometimes have fun at the expense of these scammers.

Me:  Hello

Scam:  Grandma?

Me:  Slurp, Is that you?  (In my little old lady voice)  (Slurp is the name I use - sometimes I'm Mrs. Slurp or Miss Slurp)

Scam:  (because the name Slurp is unusual the scammer is somewhat taken aback)  Yes (said after a brief hesitation)

Me:  Slurp, how you been?  You don't call, you don't write!

Scam:  Ah.

Me:  Slurp, there one thing that bothers me.  I never had any children so the possibility of you being my grandson is very remote.  Why don't you call your real grandmother and rob her.

I then let loose with a string of explitivies that wouild curl Slurp's hair.

Fun times.

I get those all the time.  Netflix, Amazon, etc.  I know it's a scam since I don't have a Netflix account.  Usually, just by coincidence, I'll get the Amazon one right after I've ordered something or received something.  So, yeah, not concerned about that.  Besides, the E-mail address I use for all my online activities knows their scams too and puts most of them in my Spam folder.

There's also the We're trying to deliver something one.  And near the end of the year I got several notices that my Anti-Virus software had auto-renewed at some ridiculous price and that it was not refundable.  They must all renew at the same time of year since I haven't received one of those since the first of the year.  Yes, I do have anti-virus, and it does auto-renew, but it was not the name mentioned in the E-mail and I know it's not that expensive.

I used to get the e-mails all the time about the account being locked.

I never clicked on the link, never even went to the website direct, I figured if it was a real thing I would find out next time I went to whatever website it was.

Re: Possible Scams

[ Edited ]

I get these all of the time too.  The scam I get most often is from Sirius. They offer me 90 days free if I renew on line.

I also get a lot of scams from Kroger, Albertsons, and Harris Teeter, which I know are fake.  We don't have those stores near me.

Oh, another one I get often is from Sam's Club. This one even has a typo on it.

Your afraid to do or not do anything now days. If

the creator of the world came to my door I'd be afraid to let him in.

Isn't that a crying shame ?
