I posted this topic on viewpoints before I knew about this forum. My cat BiBi had a lump/growth on her right side. I took her to the vet on Wednesday and the vet said it was a tumor and would have to be removed. She had surgery on Thurs and the surgery went very well. The vet says he likes to think he got the whole tumor but we will know more when pathology comes back with the report on Monday. Her bood work was good and her kidneys were also. She is home now and is eating very well, and starting to do her normal things. She is sluggish due to the anesthesia from the surgery. She is also on pain meds. The vet says that he thinks the tumor will be malignant and that once we get the report we will know how to proceed further. Does anyone have any experience with this same situation here? The vet sounds like he wants to do everything he can to save her and even told me that he doesn't want to euthanize her and wants me to start checking her after she heals for any lumps that might appear. He cut a good bit around her tumor and hopefully got the whole thing. He assured me that she would be around a long while. This weekend has been so difficult. We are very stressed about the whole thing. I wish Monday would get here and then I wish it never would get here. I'd appreciate it if anyone who has been through this could tell me of their experience. I guess I should be happy that she came through the surgery and it went well.
