Hopefully this extended cold spell gets rid of the year round ticks that were here in Ohio because it was a warm winter last year...

I hope it works for the mosquitos too.....they were both awful last year

True enough. Year round mosquitoes would not be pleasant.

As cold as its been it makes me think about our ancestors, way back in the day that there were barely houses to live in, that they had to survive these negative zero temps through their long, long winters. We have to be grateful we have nice warm, insulated homes that we live in. Be happy.

Yes, no bugaboos.  And, I like to see the deer in the snow w/o all the leaves hiding them.  I have a neighbor that puts out some food for them, evidentally, so they come by.  Plus, there's water out back until it freezes.

I was just thinking this!!  I've had Lyme.......it's awful, and my pup comes in with ticks constantly!  Maybe this is the beginning of the end for them ..YAY!

Right now, it's 2 here and and feels like -7.

Tomorrow it's supposed to go to 32 and by Friday it will be in the 50's.

or ticks, i like being able to walk through the grass and woods with my dog and not have to worry about ticks...of course i havent been able to do that 'cause of the cold but looks like this week is going to warm up...close to 50 by friday!!!!
