In 1969 while in college, I learned to crochet from our downstairs neighbor.  My first "I like it project" was a poncho crocheted in fisherman's white yarn using a filet crochet pattern with fringe. In the first week I wore it to class, I had orders for 4 ponchos!  Though I never intended to make and sell these, it all worked out well as the orders kept on coming.  I sold them for $15.00 each.

Sort of the pre-cursor to the Martha Stewart prison cape. (which I loved)

OMG, just saw a well known celeb on another channel who has brought back bell bottoms!

OK, they're calling them flare pants, but they're bell bottoms.

I've been meaning to ask you about your icon, which I love.  Is that a native American or Canadian totem?

Tlingit, maybe?

The only reason I didn't buy the last Marvelush TSV was because it was sewn up the sides and I like a true poncho.  I have other versions of this and love it.

I'm only 5'4" tall and am pear shaped and I wear them and I think they look fine.  Some of mine have some fringe and some don't.

One of my favorite things to do with a poncho is to belt just the front portion of it and leave the back part of the poncho hanging freely.  I've had women even stop me to ask how I've done that so they can do the same.

@NoelSeven

That symbol is the logo for the Seattle Seahawks.

@NoelSeven, that is an interesting observation. I thought it was the Seattle Seahawks logo, but who knows. Hope she answers!
