We did this quite a few years ago.  The majority of us were in agreement but a couple were not.  We still buy for the children in the family and even that can be quite a challenge.  It is a huge relief both financially and physically not to have to do all this other shopping.  I really don't need presents to enjoy and celebrate the holidays!
