Two Albuquerque police officers involved in the shooting of a homeless man who was illegally camping in the foothills of the Sandia Mountains last summer, have been charged with first degree murder. This received nation-wide attention when it occurred.

I don't remember hearing about it at all.

I lived in ABQ and that is where my daughter was born, my brother still lives in the area. They are having some major problems with police shootings there. I just read that an ABQ cop (today I think) shot another person who ended up being another cop. ABQ is one place I would not want to be a cop. Lots of gangs. It is one of the most beautiful places in the country though. I do love it there and love the food.

I might have, but I don't remember it. Have a link so we can read the story, OP?

I read about it in the news. The video was disconcerting, to put it mildly.

It hasn't hit the newspapers yet but here's a report from one of the cop's high priced lawyer. A video of the incident was played nationally over and over.

Albuquerque is lovely. I've spent time there at one of the hospitals which was in my support district, also had a dear friend there who was a hot air balloonist so I had the chance to participate in the crew and also to ride in one of the vintage balloons.

These situations are so sad.

For those who aren't aware of the story in the original post, just do a search for "James Boyd Albuquerque."
