Re: Poking fun at myself a little

I'm impressed @gidgetgh. That'll be a great gift for your sister.

It's a bit early for me, but I get after it in July. Nothing feels better than to shop early, with gifts ready for giving ahead of time. Then, I can actually enjoy the season on its arrival -- and just relax.

It's great to not be running around like a crazy squirrel, but I do have a hard time not gifting early, when I find the perfect gift for someone. @gidgetgh, you'll probably have some of those temptations with your sister's gift, too.

I really can't even think about Christmas now. But, good for you!

@LindaSal  It literally is a basket!  It's a laundry basket.

Re: Poking fun at myself a little

[ Edited ]

I've always kept an eye out throughout the year for Christmas gifts.  In fact, the after-Christmas sales used to be a prime time for getting good gifts for the following Christmas.  When I had an extensive list of recipients, I kept a tiny notebook in my purse with sizes, ideas and lists of gifts purchased.  Obviously, this was before smart phones became ubiquitous.

These days, my list of recipients is very small and most of them receive a fresh wreath, so I don't really shop much any longer.

Congratulations on finding a perfect gift for your sister, @gidgetgh!

@BlueFinch - nope. It is a Christmas gift. I will have no problem holding on to it till then.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

@gidgetgh Truth is out, I flunked willpower, but I respect yours.

@gidgetgh I see nothing wrong with getting a jumpstart if you saw the opportunity for a great deal, or one for which you did not want to miss out!😊 It is such a wonderful feeling when we pick the perfect gift for someone! Now you can sit back and wait for the smiles to come when she receives it!😁

I like to pick up gifts when I find something that's appropriate for someone on my list too but, the downside of doing this is that the gift can't be returned or exchanged if it's not a good fit and it's been purchased too far in advance.

@Texasmouse - this one will be fine.  It is a wallet.  And my family never returns or exchanges stuff.

Re: Poking fun at myself a little

It's a very good practice, @gidgetgh -- and I bet the limited-spring-color wallet is neat.  Tory Burch has great stuff.  Buying ahead helps relieve last-minute pressure, and you can just enjoy the season more....
