I wonder if I got one and demo'd in a busy Mall parking lot if I could start a nostalgic trend!

Maybe if we all did selfies whilst twisting and posted them on youtube!!!

I don't get it. Does it make people feel superior to put down what others find fun? Or maybe it's just one of those things that comes with age ... naturally viewing youth culture as pointless, scary, and stupid.

One could say sitting on your butt watching TV or posting on a computer is anti-social and a complete waste of time, but a lot of seniors are doing just that.

What might bother some people is the fact that there players having accidents while playing this.  It is dumb to walk in front of a car while immersed in this game.  It's also dumb to climb a fence and climb into an enclosure for tigers at the zoo while playing.  Do not pokemon go and drive...you get the idea.

People have accidents in their home all the time, or just walking to the mailbox.

I think the game makes some people angry and that's why they are shaking their finger at it.

I don't really understand the app all that much. It sounds like it's encouraging people to get up and go! Move around, see new places and things. Can't they just go to a museum and collect the Pokemon and maybe also take in an exhibit?

@NativeJax

Museums are expensive.

A basic ticket to the San Francisco de Young Museum is $15.  More for special exhibits.

The Met in NYC is $25.

It isn't the same situation but I suppose one could run into a wall at home without looking at the pokemon go game.  You are unlikely to fall off a bluff like two players did if you're home and someone did crash their car into a tree.  That's just a sampling of the accidents.

Re: Pokemon Go-what is wrong with these people?

Some museums are free on specific days....our local art museum is free every Tuesday and 1 Saturday a month. Almost all the museums are free in DC and in NY the admission is suggested not required. It's meant as a donation. Anyway, I have not read all the replies but mostly I can think of worse things for kids to do than play with an app that encourages you to get up or get out of the house. I am more worried of the reports of crimes being committed that I have heard about. What has happened at museums? I do think there could be restrictions at certain memorials, such as requiring phone to be shutoff when entering. Just a thought.
