Before my oldest daughter married her husband, he would show up on Christmas Eve carrying a gigantic poinsettia and hand it to me with the biggest smile on his face ... it was beautiful and sat in my living room thru Easter ... shedding leaves and looking sadder and sadder as each day passed ...

On her wedding day, I went into her bedroom while she was getting dressed and said, "It is time for our mother-and-daughter wedding talk" ... she tearfully replied, "Oh Mom" ...

I told her not to cry and just tell Steve no more poinsettias ... they are now married 25 years and I never got another poinsettia ...
