They changed the packaging on hearing aid batteries to be more childproof and now they are also adult proof. Little tiny batteries, must cut along each side which is difficult enough, then hoping the dang thing doesn't fly across the table upon withdrawal. Surely there has to be a better way to package them.

I've never tried this, but have read that it works ... sorry I couldn't find a picture.
Many products now come in clear heavy-duty plastic packaging. Cutting through it is a nightmare.
The suggestion was made to put the sealed seam in the can opener and run it around the edges. It opens, they say.
Can anyone find a picture of what I'm trying to describe? TIA

I am a senior senior and along with the packages, the fine small print on instructions. Especially medication or vitamins.

I use a knife, a canopener the old straight one, pointed on one end, a fork a non-slip rubberish thing, whatever works, did I forget scissors?!!! I use them all. Just short of surgery on my counter top.

I have FOUR lighted magnifiers .... one in my bedroom, one on the coffee table, another in the kitchen for cooking instructions and a tiny one in my handbag.
Magnifiers are great and worth every penny! If you're interested, look up iMagniphy on Ebay or Amazon to start.
Disclaimer: Always check on what type of batteries magnifiers use. Some use AA or AAA, but others use those tiny ones. I haven't found a rechargeable one, as I have enough for now. I'm sure they make them.

Okay, I'm adding this because no one else has ... unless I missed it.
If some packaging really annoys you, go to the company's website, go to Contact Us at the bottom, and tell them how difficult their packaging is, and not worth the trouble! Give them heck.
Will it help? I don't know, but my grandmother used to say "the squeaky wheel gets the grease".

@chlema Thank you SO MUCH for mentioning this.
I have rechargeable battery hearing aids. But sometimes when they are recharging I have not worn any hearing aids. And it hasn't always been a good situation.
So I dug out my old hearing aids that worked just fine with batteries. So I went and bought new batteries. The packaging looked the same as when I last used them. But I could not get the battery out of the package. I finally ripped the package completely apart. And wondered if I was losing my ability to figure out how to remove a battery from a package.
Thanks to you, @chlema I feel better that I was unable to pick out a battery from the packaging.
