Please Think Before You Judge

In light of the passing of Jeanne Bice I would like to make a few comments. Some posters have commented about her weight issue. I would like to say that while obesity is a risk factor for developing uterine cancer not all overweight women do develop it. I have been on the ACS messageboards for uterine cancer and most of those women are of average weight. I hate to think that we as women will develop a double standard in regards to cancer. By that I mean do we have more sympathy for a normal weight person as opposed to an average weight woman who develops breast or other GYN related cancers?

My second point is the prejudice of obesity in our society. And yes there is a definite problem with obesity. I do not discount it. However, before we judge that person , let us think. Maybe they have already lost some weight by embracing a healthier lifestyle. Weight loss is a process that takes time and we do not know everyone's circumstances.
