[abbeythe 8th]

Since I was a child all our cocker spaniels were named Abbey.  This continued when I married and we had our own dog.  My daughter has continued and has a new puppy named Abbey XIV.

@Kookielady, I too had a tortie (with quite the tortitude), who started out feral (born under a mobile home) and named "Happy" (ugh). She became Snicky(fritz). She lived to 21.

My screen name comes from the title of a poem I read in a Yahoo group message.

In my teens a girlfriends dad called me it. I never grew past 5ft. Also never heard of halfpint in a book. This was long before the tv series-

My first username was "Ford1224" which was my mother's maiden last name plus her birthday. 

When they changed the BB, I changed my username to "Lilac Tree" because I love lilacs so much.  Some folks still call me "Ford."

Mom's name "Esmerelda" named after my great great grandmother. Dad teased and called her "Little EsmeEsmerelda."

I used to be RainCityGirl, but when the Q revamped its whole chat board, I tried to sign in on that, and they told me the screen name was already taken.....yes, it was. BY ME! However, there was no way I could get it changed, so I switched to RainyDayGirl. I live in Seattle, so the name is kind of self explanatory. There are many other places in the country that get more rain than we do, but our reputation for rain still sticks.
