...this is how I would interpret it...but I could be wrong. lol

Sentence 1:  Ambiguous because the first part states outright that "controversial topics will be removed".  However...then it continues to say "will be removed at our discretion" which means to me that you can go ahead and post them but they may be removed.  They continue to give "examples" that "generally" create negative dialogue.  By using the word "generally" that.. to me.. also does not necessarily exclude such topics from being posted because it's saying that it is possible for such topics to have a civil dialogue (only suggesting that such topics "generally create a negative dialogue between Community members")...

....so that if the dialogue turns negative it will result in removal and possible banning.

Therefore...I would agree with Burnsite.

How's that?  Can you tell I'm bored?

I agree with you and Burnsite.  Basically, I believe what they are trying get across are examples of certain topics that can get ugly.   Any topic could become negative and controversial between posters and they are reserving their right to totally remove the entire thread or specific posts.  Also I think they will remove a post that quotes a prevoius post which was removed.

I agree, @Allegheny.

I wish the mods would clarify, but so far they've been very lenient with a number of current-event threads.

It appears to mean anything that requires us to use our brain for more than deciding what color of something we want to order from QVC or what size to buy.

How are they going to handle it when the election season starts heating up?  People are going to be posting political stuff left and right.

They're going to remove everything they don't want being discussed.

That leaves pretty much nothing to talk about.

Even toilet paper and crock pots will be off limits because we fight about those things too ... time out

Comments about Susan Graver are being annihilated right and left.  Very interesting to watch, and it could be a good thing.

I'm imagining the webbies with their little "cyber guns" going pew! pew! pew!  as they annhiliate the SG threads.

Q's Brittany had an unintentionally very funny comment when she deleted a SG thread 😺
