Whoa. I clicked on Marp's link and my local Pizza Hut has 7 openings. Who says you can't get a job.

One more update: My GD said they are staying open. The main manager and the asst. managers are doing the cleaning. The cooks and waitresses are not having to do the cleaning thankfully.

They are cleaning it before opening and after closing. They are working on the basement first and she said it is already much better.

They are going to hire exterminators, but they haven't been there yet.

I told her to refuse to do any cleaning and she said they weren't being asked to so far. I'm glad!!!

Hopefully things will turn around in that place.

Good to hear that your GD has not been asked to do any of the cleaning, but I am shocked that the Manager and Asst Manager are left doing the work. This is something the Owner should be providing... a professional clean team..... but that is for the Manager to speak up about. Glad things are improving, how sad it had to come to this for them to "clean up". It would have been much easier to keep the place clean daily, rather than let it become such a disaster and then have to repair it. There is lots of work to do in that 2 week period. Just out of curiosity, is the community aware of any of this? You say it is a small town and news travels... are people still dining there?

YUM Brand restaurants and franchise holders are notoriously cheap.

As I posted before, my friend was a manager of one location. It was his responsibility to make sure the toilets were working...and fix any that were plugged up...all for $35,000 a year. He was on call 24 hours a day too. He was a 50 year old man, used to running a television sports channel for a LOT more money - but the cable company went bankrupt (due to owners lawbreaking) and the network was dissolved. Fast food was the only job he could find - and he gave it his best shot.

Marp's salaries aren't much different...and my friend left YUM 5 years ago.

All the profits go to the top...

I would call the local TV station as well and get an investigative reporter out there to witness the ""cleanup."" They live for that kind of stuff.

Especially if you ""accidentally"" mention that the chef has head lice!

The newscasters would be scratching their heads over the story!
