I'm amazed that they didn't shut them down immediately. I've seen notices in the paper where I live where restaurants are closed immediately for far fewer violations.

I hope this meeting is to tell the staff he is shutting down for a day or two to have a professional cleaning crew in to take care of it and not that he expects the staff to don hazmat suits and take care of it.....

Local paper here reports the results. Do they know your granddaughter (you did) ratted them out? Could be repercussions. Hopefully, she keeps quiet.

Health inspections are public records and are ALWAYS reported. They can also be found on websites that list violations at each establishment.

There is no way they would find out who reported them....for all you know, they may have had a LOT of calls recently!

The main manager's response was that they can't afford exterminators or to have the place professionally cleaned. The waitresses and cooks will have to do the cleaning. There is no way they will be provided with special hazmat clothes!

I don't know if the owner will step up with the money to do all this or not. I don't know who owns it or where they live.

I called anonymously by the way. I didn't want them to know my GD was involved. I own a business in this small town and I don't want to be known as the trouble maker either. So I wasn't THAT brave.

Thanks for all your reponses.

I think you can find out the franchise owner on the PH website.

They need to be reported to PH corporate too (YUM Brands).

If you have a problem with vermin and insects, you need a PROFESSIONAL exterminator!

When I was in high school & college, I worked at a local pizzeria owned by my mom's best friend. The back was CRAWLING with mice. I had to throw stuff in the direction of the dough kneader before I entered the back room....

Fast forward 40 years....they were finally shut down for having the dirtiest, most code violating place in the county. Both owners are now in their 80s...there was actually a buttermilk bottle with an expiration date of 2012!!!!

They went totally out of business...but at the same time, they had GREAT reviews on social media before the violations were reported!!!!!

Did you call on pay phone or have a number that doesn't show up on caller id?

I called from my cell phone.

BTW, I just found (online) the last inspection they had. It was 2 years ago. The first inspection was rated "high risk" and it was updated to "medium risk" and there was not a follow up inspection after that. It actually said "no follow up inspection" on the states site.
